I wasn't expecting the next Call of Duty to be announced this past weekend, but it happened, as Black Ops 7 was revealed at the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase. As a direct sequel to Black Ops 2 that brings back David Mason, the trailer for Black Ops 7 ties in many elements of past games. Many current fans of the series likely haven't spent time with all of the older Black Ops titles, raising the question of how to best play them in 2025. 1916k

Resident Evil 9, officially titled Resident Evil Requiem, was revealed at the end of the Summer Game Fest event, after being teased at several points throughout the show. Not a ton of Resident Evil Requiem information has been confirmed, but we do know a few things, the biggest one probably being that new character Grace Ashcroft will be the lead. She is the daughter of reporter Alyssa Ashcroft, who was one of the many playable characters in Resident Evil Outbreak, and who was also referenced briefly in a document in Resident Evil 7.

While Mario Kart World's new interconnected map is a major draw for the Nintendo Switch 2 launch title, it will live and die by the quality of its tracks, just like every previous installment of the iconic kart-racing series. Luckily, Mario Kart World has plenty of incredible tracks, and with the excitement of Knockout Tour carrying its online modes, it's likely to stick around for many years just like its predecessor, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The newest trailer for the Ironheartseries finally proves Riri Williams won't just be an "Iron Man replacement" in the MCU. Played by Dominique Thorne, Riri Williams first debuted as an MIT student who's pulled into a major conflict between the nations of Wakanda and Talokan in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Now, Ironheart is getting her own series, one that will see her truly coming into her own as a new hero in the MCU.

Magic: The Gatheringis already planning three Universes Beyond sets based on Marvel heroes. The first one, Spider-Man, will be released this year, with more coming some time in the future. While Marvel certainly has enough characters to sustain several Magic: The Gathering sets, I can't help but feel it wasn't the best choice for an extended crossover, at least from a game design standpoint. I'm sure Marvel's popularity played a big role in it getting a larger crossover than other IPs, but I still think another Universes Beyond crossover deserves extra sets more than the comic book behemoth.

Adventuring in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered can be a lot of fun, but it's also dangerous, so having a helping hand is always useful. For this, you can get help from followers, who will back you up in battle and make dungeon delving feel just that little bit less lonely. While not every follower is proficient in combat, most are great for distracting large groups of enemies, especially when playing as a spellcaster or squishier build.

Hideo Kojima may already be planning his retirement. Kojima is naturally best-known for Metal Gear, a pioneering stealth action franchise with decades of lore and some bizarrely accurate predictions for modern times. More recently, though, after his bad-blood departure from Konami, Kojima founded his own studio, which has been hard at work since on Death Stranding and its sequel. Kojima is an industry legend, arguably gaming's greatest auteur - and he says his time in the industry is running out.

There's a brand-new update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that has me excited to start yet another playthrough. Patch 1.3.0 rolled out early this week and includes some awesome new features that will make the game more enjoyable for newcomers and hardcore players alike. This is just the first update developers at Sandfall Interactive have promised in the months following Clair Obscur's launch, and it delivers on some highly requested features that give players even more options in of difficulty.

One of the fun new features that Mario Kart World adds is the ability for players to unlock a variety of outfits or costumes for most of the drivers in the game. While this is something that the mobile game, Mario Kart Tour, offered, this is the first console version of Mario Kart to use the idea. Unlocking these outfits is a fun diversion for players as they seek out more of them, and helps make the racers a bit more unique for multiplayer games, particularly when people may be wanting to use the same character.

Ian Proulx, CEO ofSplitgate 2developer/publisher 1047 Games, has issued a formal apology for his controversial behavior at Summer Game Fest. During the show, Proulx appeared on stage in a hat that read "Make FPS great again," a play on a political slogan used by US President Donald Trump.
