Despite the character's complex nature, Marvel found the best way to adapt Sentryto live-action and set the stage for more ambitious MCU character introductions. Throughout the years, live-action Marvel movies and shows have offered accurate takes on an increasing number of comic book characters, with only a few exceptions. Lesser-known characters have risen to A-list status, and Marvel icons like Spider-Man, the Avengers, and the X-Men have strengthened their status as box office gold.

The MCU did its most powerful character so dirty it is actually hard to believe, and no: it is not the Sentry. Both the Marvel Universe and the MCU are full of extremely powerful beings who operate scales humanity cannot perceive. The Sentry, who made his MCU debut in Thunderbolts*, is far from Marvel’s most powerful character, and as it turns out, the MCU bungled them in a major way.

Sentry'sinclusion in Thunderbolts* has introduced Marvel's mightiest hero to a brand-new audience. As he steps into the MCU, he now has the potential to claim the crown of the most powerful hero, but how does he measure up against its previous holder, Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel? Since her debut, Captain Marvel has been considered the MCU’s top powerhouse, so how do these two compare?

The MCU has just introduced one of its most powerful characters yet in the form of Sentry, but I expect that even his incredible power levels will be upstaged in just two months. Sentry debuted in Thunderbolts*, which is about to enter its fourth week in theaters. His arrival wasn't surprising given the number of clues set out in the Thunderbolts* trailers, but that didn't detract from his first appearance on-screen, where he deployed a dizzying array of powers against which the titular team stood no chance.

The revelation thatSentry and X-Men'sRogue had a secret intimate relationship wasn't well-received by Marvel readers; in fact, it is often cited as one of the publisher's worst retcons, but with Sentry having debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Rogue expected to him soon enough when the X-franchise is integrated into the MCU, there is always a chance their romance could be redeemed.

The Sentry is Marvel's most powerful hero - a reality warper who subconsciously used his abilities to turn himself into the ultimate superhero. With Hulk-tier strength, impossible speed and unparalleled indestructibility, Sentry is as strong as it gets. However, with many powerful villains (including his 'other self,' the demonic Void), even the Sentry sometimes needs help.

The MCU just introduced one of its most powerful characters yet with Thunderbolts*'s Sentry, but whether the MCU's Superman is more powerful than the Scarlet Witch is a matter for debate. Although it currently seems off the cards for the Scarlet Witch to return, given her apparent death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Multiverse Saga has proven that there are myriad means for her return. The most intuitive route would be to have a variant fill the void left by Earth-616's Scarlet Witch, but the sheer scale of her powers has stoked beliefs that she survived.
