X-Men Associate Editor Annalise Bissa took to Jean Grey especially. Check out Larraz’s preview pages, courtesy of Bissa, below:

Since the House of X event in 2019, the island paradise of Krakoa has become central to Earth’s mutant population. It is their homeland. Customs and traditions like codenames and costumes that were forced on them by the outside world are here reclaimed, embraced, and made part of a new and emerging mutant identity and culture. Here, the X-Men are wearing superhero outfits, but now it is because they want to, and not because garish costumes are the only way humanity finds the mutants palatable. The Hellfire Gala will be the next step in the mutants claiming their own identity; it will stress fashion choices as well as inaugurate a new team of X-Men.

Over the years, Marvel’s mutants have had a variety of looks and interpretations and with X-Men #1, they are firmly back as super-heroes, costumes and all. X-men #1 will be written by Gerry Duggan with art by Pepe Larraz and colorist Marte Gracia. The book will be available in stores and digital July 7.
