Andor season 2's story follows on from season 1, with the titular character now embedded within the fledgling Rebel Alliance as he fights against the Empire.

Given that Andor is often considered the Star Wars TV shows. Evidently, this happens in Andor season 2, with the second outing boasting the same strong actors from season 1, alongside faces both new and familiar.

Diego Luna as Cassian Andor

Actor: Diego Luna is a Mexican actor born in Toluca. Luna's early acting career included roles in Mexican theater and several telenovelas. Luna's breakthrough role came in the Alfonso Cuarón-directed Y tu mamá también, which spearheaded his emergence into Hollywood. Character: Luna plays the titular role in Andor. Raised as an orphan on Ferrix who was accidentally taken off a planet on which he lived among a primitive tribe, Cassian Andor never took kindly to the Empire. Eventually, Cassian's quest to raise enough money to take his loved ones somewhere the Empire could not reach them embroiled him in open rebellion against the fascistic organization. Rogue One highlighted this, with Andor seasons 1 and 2 depicting his background as a fundamental member of Star Wars' Rebel Alliance.

Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael

Actor: Stellan Skarsgård is a Swedish actor born in Gothenburg. Like Luna, Skarsgård's early career consisted of films and TV shows produced in his home country. Some of Skarsgård's earlier Hollywood credits came in movies like The Hunt for Red October and Good Will Hunting. Skarsgård's collaborations with director Lars von Trier in Breaking the Waves, Dancer in the Dark, and Dogville are often seen as his breakout roles, leading to mainstream appearances in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Mamma Mia!, the MCU, and, more recently, sci-fi franchises like Dune and Star Wars.

Character: Skarsgård plays Luthen Rael in Andor, a new addition to the Star Wars franchise for season 1. Luthen Rael is revealed as one of the orchestrators of the Rebel Alliance, working alongside Mon Mothma under the guise of an antique store owner to oppose the Empire. Luthen recognizes Andor's unique abilities and enlists him, with Andor season 2 detailing how this band of disparate rebels turns into the Rebel Alliance from the original Star Wars movie.

Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma

Actor: Genevieve O'Reilly is an Irish-born Australian actor born in Dublin. Outside of Star Wars, O'Reilly's career primarily consists of Australian film, TV, and theater productions. Genevieve O'Reilly's breakthrough role arguably came in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, her first appearance as Mon Mothma, which, of course, led to her reprising the role in Rogue One, Star Wars: Rebels, Andor, and Ahsoka. O'Reilly also had small roles in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, as well as Tolkien and a voice role in the popular video games Overwatch and Overwatch 2.

Character: Mon Mothma is one of the more vital cogs in the origin of the Rebel Alliance, something that began in the Star Wars prequels. Despite being a senator during the reign of the Empire, Mothma secretly conspired with Luthen Rael to oppose the organization, eventually ceding her role as a politician and forming the Rebel Alliance. Andor seasons 1 and 2 explore how this came to be, providing extensive backstory to an iconic faction of Star Wars.

Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen

Actor: Adria Arjona is an American actor born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Some of Arjona's earlier roles include The Belko Experiment, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and Triple Frontier. Arjona's breakout roles include a recurring role in True Detective season 2, the lead in The Emerald City, and a main cast role in Good Omens, all of which led to more mainstream appearances in the 2020s. Andor was one such show, with another including an acclaimed role in Richard Linklater's Hit Man.

Character: Arjona plays Bix Caleen in Andor, a resident of Ferrix who grew up alongside Cassian. Bix and Cassian have a long history as close friends, but it is clear their relationship has romantic undertones. Bix is one of the few people Andor truly trusts and cares for, leading her to be captured by the Empire and subjected to strenuous torture so that she can reveal where Cassian is. In Andor season 1's finale, Cassian managed to smuggle Bix off of Ferrix, leading to her role in Andor season 2.

Kyle Soller as Syril Karn

Actor: Kyle Soller is an American actor born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. A great deal of Soller's earlier career, and even more recent success, came in theater acting, with his performance in The Inheritance earning him several awards. Regarding film and TV, Soller's breakthrough role was arguably in Poldark which led to his casting in Andor and, subsequently, Netflix's Bodies.

Character: Syril Karn is first introduced as a by-the-books, Deputy Inspector of Pre-Mor, an Empire-d security company. A string of murders put him on the path of Cassian Andor, whom he is dedicated to finding at all costs. Eventually, Syril somehow begins rising the ranks of the Imperial Security Bureau, to the point of saving a highly decorated officer, Dedra Meero, during Andor season 1's finale. In Andor season 2, Syril continues trying to rise to the top of his field, fueled by his obsession with catching Cassian Andor.

Denise Gough as Dedra Meero

Date of Birth: February 28, 1980

Actor: Denise Gough is an Irish actor born in Wexford. Much like Soller, Gough's earlier work came predominantly on stage, as well as several British TV shows and movies. Gough is perhaps best known for her performances in the likes of Colette, Too Close, and Under the Banner of Heaven, leading to her role in Andor.

Character: Gough plays Dedra Meero in Andor, perhaps the main villainous presence in the show. Like Syril, Dedra is a driven, intelligent person who works in the Imperial Security Bureau. Dedra begins piecing together several insurrections against the Empire, insisting that they are a connected web of attacks by a rebel cell. This leads her to investigate the likes of Luthen Rael and Cassian Andor. In Andor season 2, Dedra continues trying to find evidence of a wider rebellion against the Empire, putting her at odds with Cassian, Luthen, and Mon Mothma.

Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic

Actor: Ben Mendelsohn is an Australian actor born in Melbourne, Victoria. Several Australian theater and TV productions made up Mendelsohn's earliest work. This was before Mendelsohn's breakout role in the Australian film The Year My Voice Broke. The movie Animal Kingdom brought Mendelsohn more international fame, leading to performances in Hollywood movies like The Dark Knight Rises, Mississippi Grind, and Ready Player One. Mendelsohn ed the MCU as Talos in 2019, while also earning acclaim for his role in the Netflix drama, Bloodline.

Character: Mendelsohn portrays Orson Krennic in Andor season 2, reprising his role from Rogue One after being absent from season 1. Orson Krennic is the director of the Empire's Project Stardust, otherwise known as the construction of the Death Star. Given how big a role Andor played in the theft of the Death Star plans and Andor's reveal that his time in prison saw him contribute to its construction, it makes sense for Krennic to appear in Andor season 2. This bridges the gap between the show and Rogue One, solidifying the former as a true prequel to the latter.

Alan Tudyk as K-2SO

Actor: Alan Tudyk is an American actor born in El Paso, Texas. Tudyk is a prolific character actor, known for providing his voice and acting talents to a myriad of shows and movies over the last two decades. Some of Tudyk's most well-known film roles include 28 Days, A Knight's Tale, Dodgeball, 3:10 to Yuma, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, to name only a small handful. Tudyk's voice work is arguably more prolific than his on-screen acting, which ties to his role in the Star Wars franchise.

Character: Tudyk plays the droid K-2SO in Andor season 2. Like Mendelsohn's Krennic, K-2SO was not part of Andor season 1 but was introduced in Rogue One, with Andor season 2 bridging the gap between the former and latter projects. K-2SO is a reprogrammed Imperial security droid who becomes best friends with Cassian, with Andor season 2 exploring their first years together before Rogue One's story.

Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera: Saw Gerrera is a radicalized leader of a rebel cell against the Empire, who sometimes works alongside Luthen. Saw debuted in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, before going on to appear in Rogue One, Star Wars: Rebels, and Andor. Andor season 2 explores his further descent into radicalization and guerilla warfare against the Empire. Whitaker is best known for his roles in Platoon, Good Morning, Vietnam, and The Last King of Scotland.

Andy Serkis as Kino Loy: Kino Loy was a character in Andor season 1 whom Cassian worked with to escape a brutal Imperial prison. Kino Loy was thought dead after revealing he could not swim and re-entering the prison, but he was confirmed for a role in season 2 shortly after. Andy Serkis is best known for his motion capture roles in The Lord of the Rings, King Kong, the rebooted Planet of the Apes series, and even Snoke in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Faye Marsay as Vel Sartha: Vel is one of the rebels Andor conspired with in season 1, the cousin of Mon Mothma, and an ally of Luthen Rael. In Andor season 2, Vel continues in her fight against the Empire. Faye Marsay is predominantly known for her role as The Waif in Game of Thrones seasons 5 and 6.

Varada Sethu as Cinta Kaz: Cinta is another of the rebels Cassian worked with in Andor season 1 and is in a relationship with Vel. Much like her partner, Cinta continues fighting against oppression in Andor season 2. Aside from Andor, Sethu is known for her roles in Jurassic World: Dominion and Doctor Who, as of the show's 2024 soft reboot.

Elizabeth Dulau as Kleya Marki: Kleya Marki is the primary ally of Luthen Rael, posing as the attendant in his antique store. Kleya is often a liaison for Luthen when he cannot his rebel operatives himself, and, as such, is vital to his operation. Elizabeth Dulau is known for Maternal, All the Light We Cannot See, and Wicked.

Anton Lesser as Major Partagaz: Partagaz is the head of the Imperial Security Bureau who strikes a bond with Dedra Meero in Andor season 1. Andor season 2 furthers this connection as Partagaz and the other ISB agents seek out Cassian, Luthen, and other rebel operatives. Anton Lesser is also best known for Game of Thrones, in which he played Grandmaester Qyburn.
