About Jack Ori

Jack Ori is a transgender and autistic author who grew up and still lives on Long Island, New York.  He is the author of two novels (so far). 2020's Reinventing Hannah is about a teenager's transformation from silent, shy victim to bold advocate for survivors and his debut amateur sleuth mystery, Open Secrets (published June 2024) pits a college student determined to get justice against a school istration that is equally desperate to keep a scandal quiet.

In addition to Screen Rant, Jack is a Senior Staff Writer for TV Fanatic, where he is known as an expert in all things Law & Order, and regularly contributes articles about his experiences growing up transgender and closeted to Insider Magazine's LGBTQ+ section. You can learn more about him at https://authorjackori.com

Industry Focus

Jack Ori has been writing professionally since the early 2000s. He currently writes about TV for Screen Rant and TV Fanatic while writing amateur sleuth mysteries in his free time.

Favorite Media

Jack loves crime dramas, medical dramas, and family-oriented shows (not necessarily in that order). He's still heartbroken that This Is Us ended and is equally sad that Blue Bloods is wrapping up its final season.

He also likes LGBTQ+ focused Netflix shows such as Heartstoppers and Sex Education. He has been a Law & Order fan for as long as he can and enjoys the odd science fiction show, having been a lifelong Doctor Who fanatic.
