About Kate O'Donoghue

Kate O'Donoghue is a comics editor (and DC lead) for Screen Rant. A writer and poet from Long Island, she recently earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Purdue University, where she now teaches courses on poetry, fiction, and comics. Her creative work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Rumpus, Pleiades, Bennington Review, Ninth Letter, The Normal School, DIAGRAM, and elsewhere.

Industry Focus

Kate has been a Robin expert since childhood, but writing comic book news for Screen Rant means she gets to fulfill her high school dream of being exactly like Lois Lane. She primarily covers DC Comics, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and more. She also covers independent and creator-owned comics from DSTLRY, Image, Dark Horse, and more.

Favorite Media

Recently, Kate has been loving a range of DC books, from Poison Ivy to Green Arrow to the Flash. She's been diving into classic '60s Marvel, but loves the Runaways, Young Avengers, and Rainbow Rowell's She-Hulk. She's been reading Saga since its first issue. Kate's favorite Robin is Tim Drake, and she's always willing to tell you why.
