A reboot of the exciting Avengers movies for some time now. Thankfully, two new Avengers movies have been announced as part of Avengers: Secret Wars is rumored to reboot the MCU. While a possible MCU reboot has yet to be confirmed by Marvel, the move would make sense for the franchise, and it feels like a better idea now than ever.

The MCU Will Be Getting A Renewed Focus On Franchises And Sequels

Marvel Studios Has A New Goal In Mind

The Multiverse Saga has been a stage of experimentation for Marvel Studios. The MCU finally got to expand in new ways through the arrival of Disney+, which added TV series, shorts, animation, and Special Presentations to Marvel's lineup of movies. While some of the franchise's best projects came in this new period, such as Loki and WandaVision, Marvel has faced more criticism in the past couple of years than it ever had before. Due to that, Disney CEO Bob Iger has confirmed an MCU slowdown.

According to Iger, Disney is "leaning a little bit more into sequels and franchises," with the CEO saying, "We’ve reduced volume, we reduced output, particularly in Marvel." After the MCU experimented with smaller franchises and ing characters in the last couple of years, it seems like the franchise is going back to its most popular characters, with more development time for projects, which could help the uneven Disney+ releases. With a focus on franchises and sequels, the MCU can streamline itself again and focus on the universe's main story, which is something fans have been asking for some time.

One of the MCU's biggest criticisms has been that the franchise has not had a clear focus like the Thanos/Infinity Stones plot in the Infinity Saga, and the MCU reboot is perfect to shed excessive individual stories and focus on the franchise's major aspects again.

The MCU Reboot Can Let Marvel's Most Iconic Characters Exist Together

Major Teams Are Coming To The MCU

In order to re-focus the franchise, the MCU could lean on its strongest characters, and the best way of doing that is through a reboot. Iron Man and Captain America are currently out of the MCU; however, a reboot after Avengers: Secret Wars would allow Marvel to recast the roles with actors that can play the popular heroes for a decade or more. That way, the MCU could have the Avengers, the recently-cast Fantastic Four, and the X-Men team all co-exist from the start of the new universe, making the MCU as close to the comics as possible.
