Absolute Batman writer Scott Snyder and artist Nick Dragotta recently sat down with the Comic Book Couples Counseling podcast, where the creators shared insider details about the series and issues. One of these reveals was even labeled a spoiler by Snyder himself, who said, “I am spoiling it,” while discussing Catwoman’s debut in the series and comparing her to John Wick and Ethan Hunt.

Those who have been following Absolute Batman will recall that Selina has been mentioned multiple times throughout the narrative, even appearing in a flashback scene as a child. However, fans have yet to see her debut in the present timeline. As they continue to wait for Catwoma's official debut, Snyder has dropped some tantalizing breadcrumbs.

While talking about all things Absolute Batman, the topic of Catwoman came up, which is unsurprising, given that she’s one of the most highly anticipated characters. Snyder has been incessantly teasing her with multiple mentions throughout the issues released so far, along with featuring a young Selina Kyle in flashback scenes in Absolute Batman issues #2 and #3. On the topic of Selina, Snyder expressed his excitement for her debut, stating, “She’s almost like Batman in this world.” He then prefaced his next comment by saying, “I am spoiling it,” before revealing that she’s “got all the resources, she's like beyond successful.”

Snyder went on to paint a picture of pure badassery when he described her character as “Ethan Hunt meets John Wick.John Wick is best described as a relentless, precision-driven hitman known for his unmatched combat skills and unwavering sense of vengeance. Ethan Hunt is a resourceful and fearless secret agent, famed for completing impossible missions. So to hear that the Catwoman of the Absolute Universe is a mix of the two is beyond exciting. In his teaser, Snyder also noted that Selina won’t be wearing her typical skintight catsuit, but instead an outfit that is a “billion-dollar suit.”

Snyder said the following end statements when it came to Absolute Catwoman:

“[Her suit] has like the cat in it and it retracts and she's got all the Gadgets and everything. Whereas Bruce’s doesn't. So she's just badass. I love her to death".

Leak Reveals First Look at the Absolute Universe’s Selina Kyle

While Catwoman hasn’t officially debuted in the Absolute Batman narrative, a leak from Snyder and Dragotta’s Absolute Batman #9 has given fans their first look at the adult Selina Kyle in this universe. In the leaked , Selina and Bruce are nude, their bodies intertwined as they lie on a bed of cash. The two share a kiss before pulling apart, with Bruce saying, “This is nice.” Selina responds with a “Softy” as she gazes into her lover’s eyes, just before their moment is interrupted by a knock at the door. Snyder’s comments, paired with this leak, make it clear that fans are in for a wild and epic ride when it comes to Absolute Catwoman.
