DC Comics’ Jason Todd, the second Robin-turned- Red Hood, is a conflicted character who’s come a long way from his lethal vigilante ways, with his presence in the live-action space being woefully underrepresented on the big screen, to say nothing of the lukewarm response to Jason’s small screen debut. In a new cosplay tribute, Jason Todd’s evolution as the Bat-Family’s most badass hero reaches new heights as he dons a redesigned Arkham Knight costume that makes Jason more formidable than ever before.
Putting their spin on Red Hood’s iconic character design on Instagram, Kapture Realm (@kapture_realm) isn’t just a talented cosplayer but also a photographer, prop painter, and aspiring artist, with all that creative energy put to good use with each new live-action design.
Having created multiple versions of Jason Todd’s Bat-Family persona separate from this video game-inspired look — including a game-accurate Arkham Knight/Red Hood outfit and even a Zombified Red Hood design — Kapture Realm has also dressed as Mortal Kombat’s Cyrax, Reptile, and Cabal, with Kapture Realm’s prop work showing off even more facets of this creator’s impressive skillset.

Receiving his first live-action appearance in the Titans television show, this version of Red Hood skewed closer to the character’s more traditional jacketed and crimson-helmeted design, with Jason’s suit being an acceptable, if not somewhat underwhelming, adaptation of his comic costume. Featured in multiple different mediums outside of comics over the years, like the animated Batman: Under the Red Hood film, the recent Gotham Knights video game, and more, Jason Todd’s relation to the Arkham Knight character in Batman: Arkham Knight gave him a unique look that acts as the prime inspiration for Kapture Realm’s intimidating Red Hood cosplay design.

Jason Todd is confirmed to make his silver screen debut in 2028’s Dynamic Duo, a film that’s taking a revolutionary approach to puppetry by combining methods of CGI animation, stop-motion animation, and live-action performance, potentially leaving his first big screen appearance for the Batman: The Brave and the Bold, something that hasn’t been confirmed as it’s still in active development. Until the character gets a proper DCU introduction, creators like Kapture Realm (@kapture_realm) will be the go-to place to find incredible cosplay designs that defy all expectations, setting the bar high for Red Hood’s next live-action iteration.
