Hannah Ferrier was the Chief Stew on Captain Sandy Yawn was informed of her undocumented meds on board by the Bosun, Malia White. Hannah had failed to report her anti-anxiety medication and vape pen while working on The Wellington, and Captain Sandy had no choice but to fire her.
Many Below Deck Med fans were outraged about the way Hannah left the show. Viewers felt that Malia had it out for Hannah and ratted her out to Captain Sandy with the intent of getting her fired. The Bosun and Chief Stew butted heads when Hannah refused to switch bunks in order to let Malia and her then-boyfriend Tom Checketts room together, and it looked as if Malia was getting revenge. Fans also thought Malia was insensitive to Hannah’s anxiety, although Malia insisted it wasn't personal.

Since leaving Below Deck Med in 2020, Hannah is living her best life. She had a baby girl, Ava Grace Roberts, with her now-husband Josh Roberts, whom she met in 2018. Ava, who is now four and a half years old, celebrated her fourth birthday in October 2024. Hannah celebrated another huge event when she married Josh on March 26 2022 in Sydney, Australia, where she is from. Following the wedding, she and Josh spent their honeymoon at a luxurious resort in Thailand, where she relaxed and sipped colorful cocktails by the pool.
On the topic of having more children, Hannah did an interview in 2021 where she said her husband Josh was open to having more kids, and she was on th fence. Hannah cited having a difficult birthing experience and having PTSD from that as reasons for her hesitation. As of 2025, Hannah and Josh seem content with their family of three.

Before June 2024, Hannah had not resolved her issues with Malia or Captain Sandy and had said she wouldn’t work with them again. However, last summer, Hannah and Captain Sandy met up in Australia, and even went to Hannah's house and met her daughter.
They have talked through their differences from the firing and reconciled.
Since then, the pair have itted to being in close , and they have something exciting on the horizon together. They are reuniting for City Cruises Live, a brand-new live event series where the duo will share their experiences on the show with fans, answer questions, and enjoy city views in locales like Washington D.C., San Francisco, and San Diego, among others in 2025.
