Reacher actor Roberto Montesinos makes the case for Alan Ritchson's casting as Batman in James Gunn's the Dark Knight's brief cameo in Creature Commandos. So far, little is known about the DCU's Batman, from who's going to play the hero to which version of his iconic Batsuit he'll wear in his debut movie. Yet, fan castings abound, among which stand out Batman candidates such as Jensen Ackles, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Alan Ritchson.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Reacher star Roberto Montesinos, who plays DEA agent Guillermo Villanueva in the Amazon series, describes each quality that makes Alan Ritchson an ideal fit for the DCU's Batman. Montesinos highlights Alan Ritchson's ability to capture Jack Reacher's commanding presence and extraordinary intellect gracefully and effectively. "What would he bring to that role? First of all, his work ethic, his research, his command of a character. For example, in Lee Child's books, when you're reading the book? Reacher walks into a room, and there are three pages of thought; everything that he's clocking. How do you do that without those words? He does it with his face, with his eyes. And he said to me once, "Every movement of your eye indicates to the audience a new thought."

So, he would kill Batman. Why did Tom Cruise pick Reacher? Because he was so well-written and so complex in stillness. Batman's the same kind of thing. He's very stoic; he's got a mask. I think he would be the best Batman we've ever had. We've had some good ones, but I think he would be the best Batman we've ever had."

Batman's DCU casting choice might also be unexpected. It wouldn't be the first time — Michael Keaton, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, and Robert Pattinson weren't the top fan castings for their respective movies, yet all of them gathered their own fanbase.
