Now that Aladdin and Jasmine have arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley as part of the Tales of Agrabah update, they're introducing a few exciting new features, including your very own Magic Carpet Glider. While the Magic Carpet from Aladdin is available only as a companion, players will get the opportunity to build their own carpet after progressing a bit with Aladdin.
To begin the quest that will unlock the Dreamlight Magic Carpet Glider, you'll need to reach level 4 friendship with Aladdin and have completed his first level 2 friendship quest. In addition to Aladdin's requirements, there are a few other requirements that must be met, including unlocking and progressing with Minnie, Maui, Kristoff, and Mickey Mouse.
How To Complete The Bring Your Own Carpet Quest
Help Aladdin Build The Dreamlight Magic Carpet Glider
Once you've reached Level 4 Friendship with Aladdin and unlocked the quest, speak with him. He'll mention that, while he doesn't know much about Magic Carpets himself, Merlin may have some information, since there is no Genie to consult. After speaking with Merlin, he'll have you investigate the Dreamlight Library, which is also his own home. Grab the books from around the library and bring them back to Aladdin.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Fans Discover Exciting Updates In Tales Of Agrabah Patch Notes, Including Resolution To "The Squid Situation"
Disney Dreamlight Valley's latest update Tales of Argabah has arrived and it's brought much more to the Valley than two beloved characters.
Since he needs some time to look them over, it's time to consult someone else in the valley, this time about actually building the carpet. Minnie will tell you what materials you need to put together the Magic Carpet, including Dream Shards, Hydrageas, Purple Bell Flowers, and Fiber. Luckily, all of these materials can be gathered rather easily or bought from other characters' stalls in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Materials Needed |
How To Collect |
---|---|
4x Dream Shards |
Dig up sparkling spots, feed animals their favorite food, or remove night thorns or their equivalent in the DLCs. |
4x Blue Hydrangeas |
Found on Dazzle Beach. |
4x Purple Bell Flowers |
Found in the Forest of Valor. |
25x Fiber |
Craft it from Seaweed at a rate of 1 Seaweed = 5 Fiber. |
Once you have all the materials, take them to Aladdin and Jasmine's home. Note that you must have the materials in your inventory. It's not enough to simply have them in storage, as you need to be able to hand the materials over to Aladdin to have him craft the carpet for you. Once he's finished, which should be instantly, he will hand over a Magic Scroll. Use the scroll on the carpet that is now on the ground by interacting with it.

Disney Dreamlight Valley 2025 Roap & Updates Explained
The first three Dreamlight Valley updates of 2025 have been teased by Disney, giving fans a glimpse of what's to come in the first half of next year.
When you speak to him again, he will hand over the fully magical flying Dreamlight Magic Carpet. Before the quest is done, however, he wants to see you use it. Follow him to the front of the Dreamlight Castle, where he will tell you to begin a tour he set up for you that will take you through the banners he set up throughout the valley. You have to follow the path explicitly directed by Aladdin or the marker will not be checked and the quest will not be completed.

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Tales Of Agrabah Update Looks Great, But Something’s Still Missing
The Tales of Agrabah update is bringing a lot of new & exciting content to Disney Dreamlight Valley, but a few notable friends are still missing.
To complete the tour, use the carpet to glide down the bridge from the castle, left through the banner and up the path to the Forest of Valor. From there, take a right down the path that goes into Dazzle Beach. At the bottom, take an immediate right up into the Peaceful Meadow, then take a left at the top to go down the steps back into Dazzle Beach. Turn left at the bottom of the stairs, across the bridge, and finally finish off to the right on the small dock with a fishing spot at the end. Then, return to Aladdin.
How To Equip The Dreamlight Magic Carpet
Don't Worry, The Carpet Is Not Disappearing
Since the Dreamlight Magic Carpet is the first Glider of its kind, it's been a bit confusing to get used to. The traditional Gliders that resemble more of a surfing-style animation are never present unless they're in use, and even then, the traditional glider is not an object, just some magic dust under your feet. When Wings were added to the Glider mechanic, they introduced the idea of having a Glider that is always visible, even if it is not being used as a Glider.

I'm Concerned Disney Dreamlight Valley Has Forgotten About The Forgotten
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s original story campaign focused heavily on The Forgotten, love, and redemption, but now it feels a bit forgotten… again.
This is likely where some of the confusion comes with the Dreamlight Magic Carpet seemingly disappearing when not in use. To equip the carpet glider, open up the clothing menu as you would to change your outfit. Scroll to the bottom of the list, look for the Gliders section, and open it up to select the Dreamlight Magic Glider. When you close the window, it will immediately disappear, but this is not a glitch. The glider is still equipped, it just doesn't appear unless actively in use, unlike the Wings.
How To Use Gliders
Charge Your Energy Bar With Meals
If you're new to Gliders and this is your first time using one, it's important to know that they cannot be used without a yellow energy bar. The yellow energy bar is the sparkling yellow bar that appears after your blue energy bar is full and you eat a prepared meal. When the yellow bar is there, you can use the indicated button, depending on your platform, to glide. You should see the button specific to your platform at the bottom of your screen.
While eating uncooked fruits and vegetables will refill your blue energy bar, they will not fuel your yellow energy bar. Only prepared meals will increase the yellow energy bar.
While holding it down, the Glider will appear, and you will be able to move quickly throughout the area until the yellow bar drains. While Wings will remain on your character even if you cannot use the Glider function, other Gliders, including the Dreamlight Magic Carpet, will disappear even though they're still equipped if you do not have the energy to use them. Additionally, you can take a picture with the Dreamlight Carpet, the same way you can with Aladdin's Magic Carpet companion, by selecting the glider pose in the camera options in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
