As Marvel's new Sorcerer Supreme, the Fantastic Four's nemesis Wolverine, the Human Torch, and several other iconic Marvel heroes. As a genius inventor and sorcerer, Doctor Doom has never been short of firepower, but fans have never seen him unleash anything like this.
Doctor Doom Uses the Eye of Agamotto to Steal Marvel's Most Iconic Powers
Doctor Doom vs Dormammu Forces the Sorcerer Supreme to Push Himself
In One World Under Doom #4 - by Ryan North, R. B. Silva, David Curiel and Travis Lanham - Dormammu attacks the Earth, spiriting away the Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four. Having only recently taken over the planet, Doctor Doom is left to fight Dorammu alone, but he has a secret weapon - the Eye of Agamotto. When Doom stole the Sorcerer Supreme title from Doctor Strange, he also took the powerful artifact, which unleashes a mystic light harmful to demons. It turns out, that light has a lot more uses than Strange ever knew.
The comic reveals that while Doctor Strange used the Eye of Agamotto's mystical light directly, he never figured out how to weave that light into his own offensive spells. Having stolen the artifact, Doctor Doom is getting far more creative in weaponizing its power. Against Dormammu and his horde of demons, Doctor Doom casts several new spells, using the mystic light to replicate the powers of Wolverine's claws, Cyclops' optic blasts, and Human Torch's flames.

Cyclops and Wolverine Just Combined to Create X-Men's Strongest Hero (Yes, Really)
In the ultimate fusion of mutant power, X-Men's Wolverine and Cyclops just combined, transforming into the franchise's most powerful hero.
Doctor Doom Is a One-Man Avengers Team
It's Beginning to Seem Impossible for Marvel's Heroes to Beat Him
When vampires invaded during the Blood Hunt event, Doctor Doom pressured Doctor Strange into handing over his title and a fragment of his soul, becoming the new Sorcerer Supreme. Now, in One World Under Doom, Doctor Doom has negotiated total political control of the planet, providing a better life for everyone at the cost of living perpetually under his control. The Avengers and Masters of Evil have tried to bring down Doom, but so far they've failed again and again, only succeeding in distracting Doom enough that Dormammu saw an opening to attack Earth.
The issue showcases Doom's arrogance, as Dormammu exposes the fact that Doom could banish the demonic army at the cost of his new power, but is unwilling to make the sacrifice. However, Doctor Doom's immense talent and willpower allow him to fight long enough to summon the Avengers back from their mystical exile, turning the tables against Dormammu. Fans had expected Dormammu's attack to be the beginning of the end of Doctor Doom's tenure as Sorcerer Supreme, but it's only served to showcase his power and dedication to the role.
It's noteworthy that in battling Dormammu, Doctor Doom looks to Marvel's heroes for inspiration. One of Doom's big goals in One World Under Doom is proving that he really is the best person to protect the world, and that Marvel's heroes should follow his superior lead. Now, he's even proved that he can wield their powers on a much more impressive level, creating Wolverine claws that can hurt even a godlike demon. Doctor Doom's new powers raise the question of how Marvel's heroes can take down a villain who is so powerful, inventive and dedicated, and what it means for Earth that even caught at a huge advantage, the planet's new tyrant is seemingly unbeatable.
One World Under Doom #4 is available now from Marvel Comics.
