With Netflix due to bring out a the best Forgotten Realms book series. The show will be set in the eponymous Forgotten Realms, arguably the most famous campaign setting in Dungeons & Dragons, next to Dragonlance, perhaps. Dungeons & Dragons has been nurturing this campaign setting ever since Ed Greenwood created it in the 1960s, so it has some excellent books to its name and one of them may give the show a good starting point.
Although drow ranger Drizzt Do'Urden has long been enshrined as the ideal main character of the next Dungeons & Dragons on-screen production, it appears that Netflix will pursue an original story for its show, as showrunner Drew Crevello has not announced that the show will directly adapt one character or book or another. However, the series will inevitably play into classic D&D lore — else it will certainly face a backlash. So, it could absolutely dip into certain books or adventure modules, and Brimstone Angels definitely deserves a moment in the show.
Netflix's Dungeons & Dragons Show Should Adapt The Brimstone Angels Book Series
Dungeons & Dragons' Brimstone Angels Deserves More Attention
The Legend of Drizzt books should be explored in The Forgotten Realms, but Brimstone Angels is a lesser-known series that also deserves some attention from the TV show. American writer R. A. Salvatore is probably D&D's best writer, having written the Drizzt books. However, Erin M. Evans may be the only writer on D&D's roster that can compare. Her brilliant Brimstone Angels is well worth a TV adaptation and would play right into the requirements of a popular contemporary high fantasy TV show, offering strong but relatable tiefling female leads and off-the-wall action.
Tackling This Forgotten Realms Story Would Continue Honor Among Thieves' Tiefling Restoration
Honor Among Thieves Puts Tieflings Front And Center
If The Forgotten Realms adapted Brimstone Angels in some respect, it could build on the tiefling restoration started by Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Although the brilliant Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves won't get a sequel until a lot of discussions have been had, if ever, it already did a great job bringing tieflings into the public consciousness. Forgotten by a lot of Dungeons & Dragons' past productions, tieflings are one of the best species in the game and world of Forgotten Realms. Tieflings' demonic appearance also makes them a surefire way to invigorate a fantasy show.

The Forgotten Realms Dungeons & Dragons TV Show Doesn’t Have To Break The Bank To Adapt Drow Like Drizzt
The Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms TV show is coming to Netflix, and it may note some key tips for adapting fantasy species like drow.
Honor Among Thieves restored a classic Dungeons & Dragons race by casting Sophia Lillis as Doric, the tiefling druid; Lillis was brilliant in the role. However, since Hasbro sold eOne, it is unlikely that Lillis will return for The Forgotten Realms alongside any other Honor Among Thieves cast . But if The Forgotten Realms adapted some of Brimstone Angels, it could exploit the momentum created by Lillis in the movie and give fans more on-screen content around one of their favorite species. The time is right for a continued Dungeons & Dragons tiefling revival.
