Genshin Impact first teased its character Alhaitham months ago, and more information has finally been leaked to the community. Alhaitham is a resident of the game's newest region, Sumeru. Though he is not yet available as a playable character, Alhaitham has appeared as a quest-specific NPC in several main story quests (specifically chapter III of the new Archon Quests).
The mysterious new warrior will use the Dendro element, the new plant-like element popular among characters from Sumeru. He currently works at the Sumeru Akademiya, Sumeru's primary governing body and learning institution. He is suitably obsessed with research and operates based on logic above all else, which puts him at odds with many of Genshin Impact's other Sumeru-based characters. However, his cold demeanor seems ideal for his role as the Akademiya's scribe. According to the Archon quests, this means he is privy to some of the Akademiya's more ethically questionable research.
Though most of Alhaitham's mechanics are still unknown, the Genshin Impact Version 3.1 YouTube trailer shows him wielding a sword in his fight with Cyno during the Archon quests, specifically the 4-star Xiphos' Moonlight. The weapon is already available, so it will not be released alongside Alhaitham, but the trailer does confirm that swords are his weapon of choice. HoYoverse has not yet announced whether the mysterious scholar will have a 4-star or 5-star rarity.
Genshin Impact Leaks: When Alhaitham May Be Playable
So far, none of Alhaitham's talents or mechanical strengths have been revealed. However, looking at Genshin Impact character builds for Collei and Tighnari, the other non-Traveler Dendro characters, might provide valuable insight on how to equip him. If he does operate similarly to other Dendro s, players would be wise to focus on boosting Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst damage. Previous Dendro talents have been largely offensive and generally lean toward AoE attacks and player damage boosts, so Alhaitham's talents may prove similar. So far, no leaks or rumors have provided any concrete talent-related information.
A recent leak by Twitter next playable characters in Genshin Impact 3.2 have already been revealed to be Nahida and Layla. Hopefully, HoYoverse will release more information on Alhaitham soon, but it seems likely that the future Genshin Impact character will remain mysterious for a while.
