Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Ginny & Georgia season 3, episode 10, "Monsters."
Things don't look good for Georgia Miller for the majority of killing Cynthia's husband, Tom, is likely to take a toll on him come Ginny & Georgia season 4. This finale twist might be satisfying to fans, but it's clear that Austin is already feeling the weight of his lie. Series creator Sarah Lampert and showrunner Sarah Glinski commented on how that will affect him going forward.
In an interview with ScreenRant's Tatiana Hullender, the pair touched on the decision to have Austin accuse Gil of killing Tom to help Georgia get acquitted. And their consensus is that, while this twist is a necessary part of Georgia's journey, it's going to be difficult on her son. As Glinski put it, Austin will have to grapple with losing one parent to save the other at the end of Ginny & Georgia season 3:
"I think it was important this season for Georgia to realize that her actions have consequences on her kids. We can see very much that going into episode 10; her actions have had huge consequences on Ginny and on Austin. And she'll have to live with that in season 4. But yeah, it's going to be rough for Austin because of the guilt of having to choose between his mom and his dad - and then ultimately choosing his mom, but losing his dad."
Lampert also praised Aaron Ashmore's performance as Gil, leaving the question of whether we'll see Austin's father again open-ended. Knowing Gil, it's very possible he'll seek out revenge after Ginny and Austin's scheme in season 3. There's also a chance he'll be put on trial for Tom's murder, especially after Austin's testimony. Lampert stayed tight-lipped about this, however, highlighting his complexity instead:
"I love Aaron Ashmore so deeply. He's so fun on set. He's so game. He'll show up to set, and we'll be like, "Here's your horrible thing you're doing today." And he'll be like, 'Got it!' He has no qualms playing the villain, and I love that about him. And he's complex too. He does love his son, and I think that's what makes that character really interesting. Will we lose him? I'm not telling!
What Austin's Decision Means For Ginny & Georgia Season 4
His Guilt Could Drive A Wedge Between Him And His Family
Austin's finale decision successfully drives home how Georgia's choices affect her children, just as Glinski said. However, it'll be interesting to see how that factors into Ginny & Georgia season 4, as it's possible the guilt will drive a wedge between Austin and the rest of his family. He may come to resent Georgia for putting him in a situation where he's forced to betray his father, and he could turn that frustration on Ginny as well, since she's the one who asks him to lie.

Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Finale Pregnancy Shocker Unpacked By Showrunners: "We Know Whose Baby It Is. Change Our Mind."
Exclusive: According to Sarah Lampert and Sarah Glinski, Ginny & Georgia’s writers took a very thoughtful approach to season 3’s ending twist.
Gil is clearly planning to run from any consequences Austin's accusation could bring, but it's possible the two will have to face each other in season 4 as well. Although Lampert isn't willing to reveal whether Gil will be back or not, it seems inevitable he'll show up again before the Netflix show is finished. Given his abusive behavior, that should be cause for concern for both Ginny and Austin. It could lead the family to even more difficult situations in the coming episodes.
Our Take On Sarah Lampert & Sarah Glinski's Austin Miller Comments
Austin Will Be An Even More Interesting Character In Season 4
Austin's lie at the end of Ginny & Georgia season 3 sets up interesting possibilities for the next outing. And no matter which way his narrative goes, he'll be an even more intriguing character in the coming installments. Until now, Austin has been the most innocent member of the Miller family, but he's finally been pulled into Georgia's web of lies and misdeeds. I'm excited to see how he handles this, especially compared to Ginny, who struggles with Georgia's crimes throughout the series.
Glinski's and Lampert's comments suggest the aftermath of Austin's decision will be front of mind in season 4.
Glinski's and Lampert's comments suggest the aftermath of Austin's decision will be front of mind in season 4, which makes the forthcoming outing even more exciting. Georgia's pregnancy twist and Ginny's mental health challenges already bring plenty of drama to the series, but having Austin struggle with Georgia's actions will bring something fresh and necessary to Ginny & Georgia.
