Grand Theft Auto 6 already promises to be one of the biggest games of 2025 but Rockstar is allegedly looking to make it even larger by giving players the tools to make their own fun. With games like Roblox and Fortnite drawing in millions of players by offering their respective communities the means to design custom game modes and levels, it stands to reason that other multiplayer giants are looking to capitalize on the same strategy. With GTA Online being the powerhouse it is, Rockstar definitely wants to evolve with the times.
According to Digiday, citing insiders familiar with Rockstar's plans, the studio wants Grand Theft Auto 6 to be more than a multiplayer game: The developer aims to build a functional platform for creators. Rockstar has allegedly been in talks with popular Roblox and Fortnite creators to design unique custom modes for the multiplayer suite. Digiday claims these "experiences" would allow players to shape the game environment and even collaborate with brands to include licensed material within the modes.
GTA 6 Could Be Getting Some Interesting New Features
Expanding On GTA Online's Foundations
It's worth ing that until Rockstar makes an official announcement regarding any kind of creator suite for Grand Theft Auto 6, these reports should be taken with a grain of salt. Having said that, it's not hard to imagine the next game encouraging players to build their own custom modes and content. GTA Online has seen massive success with the role-playing mode, a fan-driven initiative that's helped keep it relevant for over a decade.
Given the popularity of Roblox and Fortnite, there's clearly a demand for -generated content that, if properly curated and funded, could craft their own experiences makes sense. Having said that, one has to hope that the studio is taking pre-emptive steps to ensure adequate moderation to ensure the community doesn't flood the game with questionable content.

More News Is Expected Soon
Despite the fact that Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated to arrive in just a few short months, Rockstar is keeping its cards close to the chest. The studio has confirmed that the game will take place in Vice City, a location long-time fans will recognize, and that it will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but there's still no word on a PC release. I have to imagine that with the launch window of fall 2025 inching closer, more details on the highly-anticipated game will be revealed shortly.
