It's rare that any superhero manages to match Guardians of the Galaxy just sured him - and it's not close. The Guardians of the Galaxy have tons of iconic , but one has always stood out as the most adorable. That is, without a doubt, Cosmo. In Marvel's mainstream timeline, Cosmo has been a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy for years, meeting the team as part of his original role as Knowhere's head of security. The telepathic dog is also an MCU star, voiced by Maria Valcheva Bakalova.
While the Guardians of the Galaxy are very well-known in the mainstream 616 universe, they just got a major reboot in the new Ultimate Universe, as revealed in The Ultimates #8 by Deniz Camp and Juan Frigeri. It seems that the Ultimates' American Chavez used to be a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the far off 61st century, with the Guardians tracking her down for a rescue mission thanks to the help of Cosmo's incredible nose.
While it's well-known that dogs have an incredible sense of smell, Cosmo takes that to the next level, as it's revealed that the Guardians found America because, "Cosmo finally caught your scent 5000 years from now!" It's an incredible ability, and one that makes Superman's famed super-senses look pathetic in comparison. The Kryptonian may be able to see, hear and smell things all over Earth, but even his senses don't extend across millennia of time.
By the 61st century, Cosmo is the last dog, having become a type of cosmic god.
Cosmo's Powers Are Upgraded Like Never Before
The Ultimates #8 by Deniz Camp, Juan Frigeri, Federico Blee and Travis Lanham
Cosmo has always been a surprisingly powerful character. While he may not look it, Cosmo is an incredibly strong telepath. He's capable of great feats of telekinesis as well. Cosmo has shown the capability of masking his presence or the presence of his friends from the people around him. He can control peoples' minds and read their thoughts. Beyond that, he's able to create telepathic illusions and even induce amnesia or create barriers to protect against physical and mental attack. On Knowhere, Cosmo managed to keep peace between multiple Guardian-level groups, shutting down the mind of anyone who caused trouble.

"They Have Powers We Don't Have Names For": Marvel's Newest Team Make the Avengers Look Like Amateurs
The Avengers can't hold a candle to Marvel's new team, whose unique superpowers make them more powerful than Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
The thing that makes this new Ultimate Cosmo so interesting is that while he definitely has his typical telepathic abilities, he also seems to have enhanced abilities simply from being a dog. The comic casually mentions that by the 61st century, Cosmo is the last dog, after all other of the species have ascended to a higher state of being. It seems that this version of Cosmo is a kind of 'god dog,' whose natural senses and abilities have developed beyond what even Superman and his Kryptonian hound Krypto is capable of.
Cosmo Is a Surprisingly Powerful Canine
And The Ultimate Good Boy
There are tons of powerful psychics in Marvel, but they aren't also capable of tracking people down through time just by scent. The entire Ultimate version of the Guardians of the Galaxy seems absurdly powerful compared to their 616 counterparts, but Cosmo might just be the strongest of the bunch. He can read minds, share memories, re-order brains, and sniff someone down through thousands of years of time.
Here's hoping that this new version of the Guardians of the Galaxy return soon and bring their dog with them - the list of Marvel characters who can out-Superman Superman is incredibly short, and none of the others are this adorable.
