Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary celebrations just keep getting better with the iconic mascot releasing numerous crossovers and collaborations, each better than the last. That said, Hello Kitty's newest collab with Fender may just take the cake as the most unique one yet, with even the hardest of metalheads going crazy for it.
Hello Kitty recently collaborated with Fender in celebration of the opening of Fender's new flagship store in Tokyo on November 12, 2024, with the release of new limited-edition Hello Kitty-themed Squier Stratocasters. The collaboration also includes an even more exclusive Made in Japan Fender Stratocaster which will be available only at said flagship store along with other cute, themed merchandise such as guitar cases, fuzz pedals, straps, cables, plectrums, tote bags, clothing, and much more.
The collaboration was also accompanied by a fun promotional video featuring Hello Kitty herself shredding alongside Yoyoyoshie from the popular Japanese rock band Otoboke Beaver, which was posted to Fender Music Japan's YouTube channel.

Dubbed the Fender x Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Collection, the new collab includes two Squier Limited Edition Hello Kitty Stratocasters available in pink and white variants with a glossy finish. Both variants sport Hello Kitty's face on the pickguard as well as the headstock with red-dot inlays on the maple fingerboard. These retail for 74,800 yen or roughly 485 USD and are available at authorized Fender dealerships worldwide.
To mark the occasion, Hello Kitty and Fender have also released a Made in Japan Fender Limited Edition Hello Kitty Stratocaster in a glittery pearl white finish featuring Hello Kitty atop a pile of bows across the body as well as a single red bow on the fingerboard to mark the twelfth fret. This exclusive variant is available only at the newly opened flagship store in Tokyo and retails for 330,000 yen or roughly 2137 USD and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Accessories include Hello Kitty-themed pink and white fuzz pedals retailing for 11,000 yen, black and pink embroidered and cushioned gig bags priced at 16,500 yen, a solid pink cable for 2,640 yen, and a pink and white plaid-printed woven cable for 3,080 yen. The collection also includes two Hello-Kitty-printed poly straps available in pink and white for 3,850 yen, a white vegan leather strap for 5,500 yen, and a pink leather strap for 12,500 yen, and to complete the look, a Hello Kitty-branded pack of 18 guitar picks.
As for the other merchandise, Hello Kitty and Fender have also released t-shirts, hoodies, caps, PVC cases, strap blocks, cleaning cloths, mugs, notebooks, socks, and even Hello Kitty-themed masking tape. Overall, Sanrio have certainly outdone themselves with this collab which is sure to be the most memorable of Hello Kitty's 50th anniversary celebrations.
