Invincible season 1's ending has an epic and brutal fight between the two Viltrumites, one that left viewers in shock due to its violence and destruction.
The brutal superhero fights are one of the trademark qualities of Invincible as a TV show and in the comics. Omni-Man was at the center of some of the most bloody brawls in season 1 even beyond his clash with Mark. Viewers watched him obliterate the Guardians of the Globe and later punch a hole right through a revived version of The Immortal. Invincible treated viewers to plenty of other tough-to-watch fights, including Mark nearly dying at the hands of Battle Beast. Still, the Omni-Man fights could not be topped for their brutality, but Invincible season 2's villain choice will easily top Omni-Man's vicious fights.
Invincible season 2's villain is expected to be Conquest, a fellow Viltrumite warrior, just like Omni-Man. His incredible strength and background are bad news for Mark Grayson, though. For as brutal as Omni-Man and Invincible's fight was, Nolan Grayson was also holding back his powers to try and make Mark his cause. Omni-Man certainly is evil, but he still loved his son. Conquest does not have the same weakness. Invincible season 2's villain is completely loyal to the Viltrumite Empire and has no sense of showing mercy to those who oppose him. Conquest is at the center of some of the bloodiest and most shocking fights in the source material, including his fights with Mark. If Invincible season 2 stays even remotely close to the comics, Conquest will make Omni-Man's fights look tame (as hard as that might be to believe).
Why Conquest Is The Best Invincible Season 2 Villain
Conquest being Invincible season 2's villain will present Mark with an even more formidable opponent as he begins coming into his own as a superhero. While Mark will still be dealing with wondering where Omni-Man went, Conquest's arrival is a key part of Invincible's journey. Since Omni-Man has abandoned his post on Earth and neglects his duties to the Viltrumite Empire, those responsibilities suddenly fall to Mark. It puts him in a strange place where failure to comply means enduring the wrath of the empire, which eventually leads to fighting Conquest.
There are other good options for Invincible season 2's villain, such as Angstrom Levy, but Conquest is the best choice. He is another person who is more powerful than Mark in strength alone by most measures, which helps push Invincible to learn how to preserve. Conquest's ties to the Viltrumite Empire also help set up some of Invincible's biggest storylines to come. All of this will include a few fights between Invincible and Conquest (and others) that viewers will not easily forget due to the brutality and deaths that occur. So, Invincible season 2's villain Conquest can help raise the stakes, violence, and more.
