Hill also notes that before he was a full-time horror writer, he was a full-time horror fan, hanging the "gruesome, gory" centerfolds of Fangoria magazine on his bedroom wall. Hill picks Nosterafu, Smile 2, and Terrifier 3 as his most anticipated movies. Check out his quote below:

I’ve already made my list of the three horror films I’m most excited to see. I can hardly wait for Robert Eggers to drop a new vision of Nosferatu on us. The thought of a sequel to Smile puts a grin on my face. And I’m not clowning around when I say I’m psyched for the next Terrifier.

What Hill's List Means To Horror

All Are Highly Anticipated Films

Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz (Willem Dafoe) looks concerned while sitting in a dim room in Nosferatu

It's safe to say that Hill's list of anticipated horror films is not necessarily unique to him, as these are all films that are on a lot of horror fan's radar. Nosferatu is a remake of the classic 1922 German film, which was itself is based on Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. It stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, and Willem Dafoe, and is written and directed by Robert Eggers, who wrote and directed 2015's The Witch, 2019's The Lighthouse, and 2022's The Northman. Nosferatu opens on Christmas Day.

Smile 2, opening October 18, comes after Parker Finn's wildly successful 2022 original, which was his feature directorial debut. Based on his own short film, Laura Hasn't Slept, Smile starred Sosie Bacon, Jessie T. Usher, Kyle Gallner, and Kal Penn. The film was a hit with audiences with critics and audiences, grossing over $217 million on a budget of $17 million. Smile 2 stars Naomi Scott, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Lukas Gage, and focuses on a global pop star who begins to experience increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events.

It's safe to say that Hill's list of anticipated horror films is not necessarily unique to him, as these are all films that are on a lot of horror fan's radar.

Terrifier has proven to be one of the more successful indie horror franchises in recent history. The brainchild of writer/director Damien Leone, the Terrifier franchise is focused on Art the Clown, a killer who terrorizes on Halloween night. Leone created the character of Art the Clown for a pair of short films, with the first feature film of Terrifier being released in 2016. While it was a very moderate success, it became a darling among hardcore horror fans. Terrifier 3 was released to a respectable box office and solid reviews.

Our Take On Hill's List

Like Father Like Son

Like his famous father, Hill lends some credibility to any project he endorses. As one of the foremost authorities in horror for the last 50 years, King's opinion has gone a long way over the years. Films like the original Evil Dead were put on the map thanks to King's endorsement, and he continues to regularly post his reviews for pop culture on social media. Films like Nosfuratu, Smile 2, and Terrifier 3 will surely benefit from an endorsement from a highly respected horror author like Hill.
