Gojo and Geto's past play out on the big screen. Since the film's release, pirated video clips and images have begun surfacing online and spreading to countries where the movie is not in theaters yet, like the U.S.

The creators behind the Jujutsu Kaisen movie have issued a stern warning to anyone considering distributing this unauthorized content. If anyone is caught pirating the film, they could face hefty fines and legal action.

The Law for Prevention of Unauthorized Recording of Films prohibits recording in movie theaters, and posting those photographs and videos online is considered to be copyright infringement. @animejujutsu reminds fans that "penalties may include up to 10 years imprisonment, or a fine of up to 10 million yen, or both."

JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie is not out until July 16, 2025, in the U.S., so understandably, people are impatient to catch a glimpse of the new scenes that were not in the anime's second season and can only be seen in the film itself. However, based on this threat of potential punishment by law, sharing images and videos without authorization could result in jail time or substantial legal fees. Jujutsu Kaisen's team is not the first to warn of legal action recently, Demon Slayer has dealt with a similar issue.

Anime Leaks Have Affected Demon Slayer Too Recently

A brief preview of clips of the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle sneak peek began surfacing on social media as well, causing Demon Slayer's team to post a very similar message on X, urging moviegoers to reconsider this behavior or else risk serious legal consequences.

Anime piracy is becoming a formidable problem, and it affects theatrically released films, television shows, manga, and everything in between. Companies are taking action against people who illegally distribute anime content, going after both large-scale pirated content streaming websites and illegally distributed content on social media. Although it may be difficult to wait for the new Jujutsu Kaisen movie to hit theaters in the U.S., it will be worth the wait, and the repercussions of posting scenes online without permission are simply not worth it.
