Our Little Secret isn’t Lindsay Lohan’s only Netflix Christmas movie, as her partnership with Netflix started with one. In 2022, Netflix released Falling For Christmas, also a Christmas rom-com. Directed by Janeen Damian, Falling For Christmas follows Sierra Belmont (Lohan), a hotel heiress and the new “vice president of atmosphere” at the luxury ski resort owned by her father. One day, Sierra goes up a mountain top with her influencer boyfriend Tad (George Young), who proposes to her. However, the wind causes Sierra to fall from the mountain, and she’s found by Jake (Chord Overstreet) and taken to the hospital.

Netflix has kicked off the Holiday season in true Hallmark fashion with Falling For Christmas, and the ending could leave space for a sequel.
Sierra loses her memory and Jake takes her to his bed and breakfast hotel, the Northstar Lodge, which has been struggling lately. Sierra learns to do all the things she never had to because she’s wealthy (and a bit spoiled), and she and Jake fall in love. Although both Falling For Christmas and Our Little Secret are Christmas movies with the same comedic and romantic tone, they are very different and were received by critics differently, as well. Falling For Christmas is a lot sillier and harder to believe than Our Little Secret, and its bad visual effects (like some very fake backgrounds) are distracting and make the movie look cheap at times. However, it’s definitely an entertaining and heartwarming Christmas movie, but it’s mostly praised for being Lohan’s big comeback to the genre.
Despite their differences, Falling For Christmas and Our Little Secret are a winning Christmas combo.
On the other hand, Our Little Secret has a better mix of comedy and drama, though it did lack some more development in the story of Avery and Logan. In addition to that, Avery and Logan’s secret ends up being overshadowed by those of other characters, but it still has a feel-good ending with one final surprise. Despite their differences, Falling For Christmas and Our Little Secret are a winning Christmas combo that can get anyone into the Christmas spirit.
