After delays from previously announced slates, there are a number of promising MCU timeline will proceed into Phase 6. With the end of the Multiverse Saga approaching, it's hoped that the Marvel movies coming out in 2025 will be more integral to the overarching story, and/or continue other plot lines established in Phases 4 & 5.
There is a lot to be excited about regarding the exciting superhero movies for audiences to enjoy - as well as TV shows that will feature some beloved comic book characters.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps depicts Marvel's First Family navigating their roles as heroes amidst a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world. As they defend Earth from Galactus and the enigmatic Silver Surfer, they must also uphold the strength of their family bond.
After Disney acquired a number of Fox film and TV assets in 2019, Marvel Studios announced The Fantastic Four movie, which is set to follow one of Marvel's most well-known teams of superheroes. The Fantastic Four: First Steps releases on Friday, July 25, 2025, two weeks after James Gunn's Superman hits theaters. The Fantastic Four: First Steps will operate as a period piece set within its own universe as Marvel's First Family are the only heroes in their world.
The main cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm aka The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm aka The Thing. Additionally, Julia Garner will play Shalla-Bal aka Silver Surfer and Ralph Ineson will play the planet-devouring Marvel villain Galactus.
2024’s Newest Award Wins Just Made The MCU’s Releases More Exciting Twice
Following a pair of Best Actor wins at the 2024 Emmy Awards, two Marvel projects have gotten even more exciting because of it.
With Robert Downey Jr. playing Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it is possible that he might also appear in The Fantastic Four: First Steps prior to those films. With Galactus and Silver Surfer both in the film, though, it might feel crowded with Doctor Doom around, especially with the anticipated return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU.
MCU TV Shows Releasing In 2025
The Television Side Of The MCU Continues On Disney+
Since MCU Phase 4, Marvel Studios has been including TV shows as part of their shared cinematic universe, to differing levels of success. In 2023, it was reported that Marvel was changing the way they produced their television shows, and Disney CEO Bob Iger made a point to say on multiple occasions that Marvel would be slowing down how often they released new shows and movies. Both these changes came after criticisms of rushed TV productions and too many releases in a year.
In October 2024, Marvel Studios released a Look Ahead Trailer that featured all the series that would be coming to Disney + in 2025. Despite Iger talking about slowing down on projects, that doesn't seem to be the case in 2025, as Marvel Studios has six shows coming out; three live-action and three animated ones. Among those are Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Daredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Zombies, and Wonder Man. It's a varied slate of characters that could shake up things for the MCU moving forward.

Riri Williams Returns After 2021's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Set after Dominique Thorne's MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Marvel Studios' Ironheart series follows Riri Williams as she follows in Iron Man's steps as a high-tech superhero and crosses paths with Anthony Ramos' Parker Robbins a.k.a. The Hood, a magic with ties to the dark arts. The six-episode Disney+ series is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 5.

Dominique Thorne was introduced as Riri Williams, a legacy Iron Man character in Marvel Comics, in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She's next set to appear in the Ironheart TV show, which will depict Riri's full origin story and how she constructs a suit of armor like those worn by Tony Stark. It had been known Ironheart would be coming for years, but a vague timeframe was all that was said.
Now, Ironheart will premiere on Disney + on June 4, 2025. It's a new era for the MCU regarding Iron Man-esque characters, and Riri Williams will look to carve out her own legacy in her series. Anthony Ramos (In the Heights) also s the cast as Parker Robbins / The Hood, who will be another magic added to Marvel's roster.

The Black Panther franchise for Marvel has been incredibly successful in of box office as well as critical acclaim. Black Panther was nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards and won Best Original Score, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was nominated for Best ing Actress and won for Best Costume Design. Now, the world of Wakanda is set to be explored even more in the series.
Eyes of Wakanda will be released on Disney + on August 6, 2025. It will be an animated series set within the MCU and will feature a number of stories revolving around Wakandan warriors trying to recover vibranium artifacts over the course of Wakanda's history. It is always great to return to Wakanda, and Eyes of Wakanda will be the next look into one of the MCU's best locations.

Marvel Zombies has been teased a number of times throughout the MCU. First was Zombie Iron Man attacking Peter Parker in a Mysterio illusion in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Though it was just a nod to the iconic comic run, the idea of incorporating it into the MCU was just beginning. What If...? featured an entire episode about Zombies and showed that a premise like Marvel Zombies could work amazingly for an animated television series.
Marvel Zombies will be released on Disney + on October 3rd 2025, just in time for Halloween festivities. Marvel Zombies will be a TV-MA rated series, meaning it will be one of the most violent shows for the MCU yet, indicating the different directions Marvel Studios is willing to take with their properties. Like Eyes of Wakanda, the series will only consist of four episodes.

Wonder Man is set to introduce a brand-new hero into the MCU. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star as Simon Williams, who is an actor and stunt performer that gains superpowers and becomes Wonder Man. Alongside him is Ben Kingsley, reprising his role as Trevor Flattery from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The series will consist of ten episodes, with Shang-Chi and Spider-Man 4 director Destin Daniel Cretton directing the first two.
Wonder Man will be released on Disney + in December 2025, marking the end of the calendar year for Marvel Studios. The Wonder Man show has been a long time coming for the MCU, since it first went into development in 2021. Wonder Man has the chance to be a significant part of the MCU going forward, so seeing him in his own series is exciting.

After Netflix's Daredevil ended in 2018, and having made cameos in several MCU projects, Charlie Cox was finally given the opportunity to star as Matt Murdock again as the lead, as Daredevil: Born Again premiered on March 4, 2025. The one-two punch of Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk led to some great television, as Daredevil: Born Again is one of the best TV shows that Marvel Studios has ever made. It also sets up an explosive second season that looks to have lasting ramifications for the MCU's street-level heroes.
