Marvel Rivals is introducing another limited-time game mode called Giant-Sized Brain Blast, which offers rare rewards for those who participate. This mode enlarges the heads of every character, creating a goofy bobblehead-like appearance for everyone you could play. This increases the size of a character's hitbox, making them easier to hit in chaotic matches.

Giant-Sized Brain Blast will be added to the rotation of available game modes under the "Play" menu. Alongside Quick Play, Conquest, Doom Match, Vs. AI and Competitive mode in Marvel Rivals, Giant-Sized Brain Blast will be among the game types you and other players can queue for. Proficiency points can be earned while playing this new mode, though with recent changes, likely only up to a certain point.

How The Giant-Sized Brain Blast Event Works

Play Another Mode With Unique Rules

The Giant-Sized Brain Blast mode is just Conquest, but with every character's head expanded to be much larger. This comedic mode functions exactly like Conquest, where players try to score as many eliminations as possible before time runs out. During both windows, when the game mode is live, you'll likely be able to complete different challenges to earn currency types in Marvel Rivals.

A recent update for Marvel Rivals adds the ability to get new colors for existing skins on a few characters, allowing you to customize some costumes.

Due to the large heads of characters, every hero's hitbox is drastically altered in Giant-Sized Brain Blast. You can land critical hits more easily by targeting the much larger heads of characters, making normally small opponents much easier to take down. For example, Spider-Man's small hitbox is expanded with his big head in this mode, making it much easier to hit the nimble character as he swings around.

Only characters whose abilities already have a chance to land a critical hit can take advantage of the big heads of heroes in Giant-Sized Brain Blast. For instance, Scarlet Witch's primary attack does not invoke critical hits, so she may be weaker in this game mode.

Beyond their hilariously large heads, no other character elements are changed in the new game mode. Every character has the same abilities, similar to the Clone Rumble mode in Marvel Rivals, which also lasted for a limited time. Between two teams, you win by either reaching 50 kills with your allies or having more elimination points by the end of a match.

Every Reward From The Giant-Sized Brain Blast Event

Earn Exclusive Titles By Scoring Onto The Leaderboard

As you play multiple matches in Giant-Sized Brain Blast, you can climb up the leaderboards in the mode to earn rewards. Every character has an individual leaderboard separate from other heroes you can progress to the top of. Those who reach the Top 500, 100, or 10 of a particular character will be gifted rewards for their position when one window of the game mode ends.

Marvel Rivals: Cerebro Database Event & Rewards Guide

The newest limited-time event in Marvel Rivals is the Cerebro Database in Season 2, where you can complete objectives for a free Mantis skin.

After each event round, players ranked in the top placements for characters will receive a special Title commemorating their position. Rewards will automatically be added to your through your mail, and will be viewable in the "Customize Title" section of your "Career" menu. Here are all the Titles you can earn while playing the new Brain Blast mode:

  • Top 10 = Planet-Sized-Brain [Character]
  • Top 100 = Monster-Sized-Brain [Character]
  • Top 500 = Giant-Sized-Brain [Character]

Anyone who achieves a top placement in the Brain Blast mode will get a title that resembles the character they played. For example, someone who reaches the Top 10 rank with Venom at the end of a window for the game mode will receive a Title called "Planet-Sized-Brain Venom."

Alongside the cosmetics available in Season 2, you can also earn a permanent and unique cosmetic by playing matches in this new mode. When you complete 10 Giant-Sized Brain Blast matches, you earn a free Emote named "Brain Blast." You have to choose which character gets this Emote, as only one can be unlocked for a specific hero once you meet the reward requirement.

The "Brain Blast" Emote changes a character's head size to the shape it was during the new game mode. While this is a debuff to your character, as it increases their hitbox size, it is a funny cosmetic that can be used in any match after you equip it. Since it doesn't take many Giant-Sized Brain Blast matches to gain this emote in Marvel Rivals, it will be a cosmetic you'll likely often see from other players.
