Alongside multiple Season 2 updates, Marvel Rivals has given players the option to gift costumes from their favorite characters to any of their friends. Cosmetic bundles offered through the Store can be purchased for someone else, giving them access to new skins for any hero. However, the process behind gifting skins is a little complicated, with several requirements and steps you have to follow.

For starters, your must be at least Level 10 to start giving out gifts, requiring some amount of playtime. Once you reach that requirement, you still won't be able to gift skins from both the free and Luxury versions of the Season 2 Battle in Marvel Rivals. You can't gift your friends costumes given out as rewards from reaching a Competitive milestone or from in-game events.

How To Gift Skins In Marvel Rivals

Select A New Option From The In-Game Store

To start gifting skins to your friends, go to the "Store" menu once you start up the game. Once you are there, you'll see bundles of different costumes being offered for different characters, some of which have remained in the Store since Season 0. When you select a skin bundle you want to gift to your friend, follow these steps to complete the process:

  1. Select a Skin Bundle from the in-game Store.
  2. Press the "Gift" option to the right of its price tag.
  3. Choose who is getting the Gift from your Marvel Rivals friends list.
  4. Add a note onto the Gift page along with the Bundle.
  5. Confirm the Gift by selecting the price option shown.
  6. Have the Gift sent to the friend you selected.

As of this time of writing, you can only gift friends Skin Bundles, which feature a unique costume and several other cosmetics for a character. This means that individual costumes in Marvel Rivals are unable to be gifted on their own, but this could change in the future.

You need to be official Friends with another player before you can start sending them Skin Bundles as a gift. Once you send a Gift to another player, they can check their Mailbox to receive whatever Bundle you sent. Those who get Gifts can check their Mailbox by clicking on their icon in the top right corner of their screen from the start menu, then scroll over to the right tab.

Restrictions On Marvel Rivals Skin Gifts

Unlimited Gifts Are Not An Option

Unfortunately, there are several limitations on gift giving that may act as obstacles when you try to purchase Skin Bundles for your friends. The biggest barrier to Gifts is that you can only spend Lattice on Gifts, not Units. Lattice currency in Marvel Rivals can be earned in-game, but far less frequently than Units or Chrono Tokens, the other two types of common currency in the game.

A free skin for Wolverine named Patch can be earned in Marvel Rivals by participating in the latest seasonal event, but only for a limited time.

More often than not, this means you'll have to spend real-world money on Gifts, sometimes even more than you would spend on a costume for yourself. Since you can't split the cost of a Gift Skin Bundle between your available Units and Lattice, it can end up getting more expensive.

Here are some other restrictions you need to be aware of when purchasing Gifts for others:

  • Players are only allowed to buy 5 Skin Bundles as Gifts per day.
  • Nothing that isn't in the in-game Store can be bought as a Gift.
  • Gifts cannot be refunded once sent to another player.

Despite the narrow path you have for giving costumes to your friends, the system in place does refresh the number of Gifts you can buy after each day. This gives you the chance to gift skins more often than you'd expect in Marvel Rivals, allowing you to give your closest teammates cosmetics for characters they've wanted the most.
