Dunphy-Pritchett-Tucker family over the years, as their children grow up, their marriages evolve, and they have many memorable gatherings. Modern Family was considered groundbreaking for its depiction of a gay couple becoming parents as well as the rest of the sprawling, blended family, and it at least contributed to the popularization of the mockumentary format.

Modern Family's best seasons and its glory days are certainly behind it, but the stars and fans still look back on the experience with love. During an interview, while discussing her new crime drama docies Griselda, Sofía Vergara talked about her affection for the cast and her favorite filming moments. Vergara plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, Jay Pritchett's (Ed O'Neill) much younger wife, who has recently officially ed the family along with her son Manny (Rico Rodriguez) at the time the series begins — and the development of the relationships between the cast and characters from there is the best part of the story.

When Asked What Her Favorite Modern Family Episode Is, Vergara Talked About Filming It

In an interview on Modern Family cast. Particularly, she said Ed O'Neill is the "love of [her] life," and of Julie Bowen (who plays Jay's daughter Claire): "She is my sister." Should there be a Modern Family reboot?

Even though Modern Family only ended in 2020, there is already discussion of a possible reboot, and several of the cast have expressed their interest in reprising their characters. I really liked Modern Family from start to finish, despite many thinking the last three seasons dropped in quality compared to earlier installments, but I don't know if rebooting it anytime soon is a good thing. Unless the show introduces a significant time jump, I don't think enough could have really happened to warrant bringing it back, and even then, moving forward in the timeline presents its own issues.

Halloween episodes happen regularly throughout Modern Family, but the one from only the second season stands out in Vergara's mind. In this episode, Claire is trying to get everyone to help run her haunted house, but they are all busy with their own subplots. Jay comes to the Dunphys' house dressed as a gargoyle, while Gloria is a witch. Vergara said that it was her favorite episode because they had such a difficult time filming it when no one could stop laughing at O'Neill's gargoyle costume:

We did a Halloween episode, and it was all in the Dunphys' house. We all had costumes, and for some reason, we couldn't get it together.

Sofía Vergara Recollection Of "Halloween" Confirms What Made The Series Great

The Cast Of Modern Family Were Like Family

Indeed, the chemistry and sense of family among the cast of Modern Family is what made the series work so well. Practically every member of the cast had a great rapport with every other co-star, which made it so the writers had many pairings to work with, which could all produce hilarious storylines. When the core of the series is about the family loving and ing each other despite their differences and the various directions their lives go, the relationships among the cast lend themselves well to Modern Family.

The cast also ed each other in real life, which could only have bolstered the way their relationships came across on screen. Notably, the Sarah Hyland's (Hayley) engagement and wedding. Modern Family has a real warmth to it because the cast sees each other as family, with years of goofy behind-the-scenes moments that created the right energy for when they were working.

It's Not The Best Modern Family Episode, But "Halloween" Is Still A Great Half-Hour Of TV

Claire Is Intense About Halloween

Season 2, episode 6, "Halloween," isn't one of the best episodes of Modern Family, but it makes sense as one that many people besides the cast would look back on as a favorite. Claire's speech about how Halloween is her holiday, as well as everyone's costumes, are highlights. Of course, in the end, everyone rallies to make the haunted house a success. It's a fairly basic one-episode plot that Modern Family uses often, but a fun one to watch nonetheless.
