Bob Odenkirk returns as Hutch Mansell in a bloody first-look at Nobody 2 was confirmed, with Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes For Us) set to direct. The sequel brings several familiar faces back from the original movie, including Christopher Lloyd as David Mansell and Connie Nielsen as Becca Mansell, with Sharon Stone ing the cast as a villain.
Empire now releases the first image from Nobody 2, showing Odenkirk's Hutch covered in blood and pointing a gun at an off-screen attacker. Tjahjanto teases some of what's to come from the sequel, noting that Hutch's relationship to his family will be front and center in the movie. Audiences can also expect an evolution of the first film's visual aesthetic, with Nobody 2 set to be brighter and more vibrant. Check out the new image and Tjahjanto's story teases below:
Now that he’s back at it in full throttle, how does his family react to this beast? You’ll see a lot of the questions that fathers and husbands ask — ‘How do they react to this other side of me who’s constantly hustling and working for the family?’ It’s gonna be quite a journey. We do away with the whole drab, gloomy factory/warehouse feel of the first film and make it much more summery and colourful.
Though many questions remain about Stone's villain character, Tjahjanto offers an enthusiastic tease about her performance, promising a bold new antagonist:
Her performance reminds me a lot of Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast. She is definitely an alpha female. She doesn’t take sh*t from anybody. This is a villain that is unique, and she’s making this character completely batsh*t crazy.
What Nobody 2's Latest Update Means For The Film
The Sequel Could Be Even Better Than The Original
Nobody is one of a number of action films that emerged following the success of John Wick (2014). Though not all films that attempted to repeat this action flick's success were hits, director Ilya Naishuller's film connected with audiences and Odenkirk was embraced as an action star. Nobody reviews were generally positive, and the film currently boasts an 84% critics' score and 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It was also a box office success, grossing $57 million on a $16 million budget.
Derek Kolstad wrote the scripts for both John Wick and Nobody, and he has a writing credit on Nobody 2.

I Hope Bob Odenkirk’s Action Movie Sequel Copies This 1 Trick From Keanu Reeves’ John Wick
Bob Odenkirk’s 2021 action film Nobody premiered to great success, but its sequel will need to follow this John Wick trend to find success.
Odenkirk, who was previously best known for playing sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, was a major reason for the success of the first film, and the latest image suggests that Nobody 2 won't be forgetting this. Tjahjanto's previous movies include The Night Comes for Us (2018) and The Shadow Strays (2024), both of which are not only very bloody and violent, but also well-received critically. With the sequel set to combine elements that made the original work some exciting new ingredients, Nobody 2 could be an even bigger hit.
Our Take On Nobody 2's New Reveals
Hutch's Family Life Could Elevate The Sequel
Though the latest Nobody 2 image arguably doesn't convey the lighter and more colorful aesthetic that Tjahjanto describes, it nonetheless is a welcome confirmation that the sequel won't be toning down the bloody violence after the Nobody ending sequence. The Night Comes for Us and The Shadow Strays both feature some impressive action sequences, and Tjahjanto seems like the perfect director to continue Mansell's story.
Action will be the main reason to check out Nobody 2, but the sequel could be further elevated if it features a strong emotional element. Hutch's dynamic with his family was explored in the first movie, but the fact that his assassin past has now been revealed could put major strain on his relationship with his wife, Becca, and two children, which could be interesting. With a release set for next summer, a Nobody 2 trailer may not be too far off.
