At some point during your Oblivion Remastered playthrough, you may find yourself accidentally suspended from your hip in the Mages Guild. While suspended, you'll be unable to continue the guild's quest line, and you will lose some of your privileges of hip. And, although the game tells you exactly what you need to reverse your suspension, it can still be pretty tricky to actually accomplish. I will run through everything you need to do to get back on track if you find yourself in this predicament.
With several of Oblivion Remastered's guilds, you will be given strict guidelines to follow when you them. The easiest thing to do is just make sure you don't violate any of those rules, and you can avoid suspension altogether. Of course, as I'll cover with my own example of suspension, this is sometimes easier said than done. Besides, the temptation to break certain rules for the sake of expediency can often be hard to resist. Luckily, getting your suspension reversed isn't all that difficult if you know where to go to find the necessary materials.

What Can Cause Mages Guild Suspension?
Breaking The Mages Guild Charter Will Get You Suspended
When you first the Mages Guild in Oblivion Remastered, you will be told the guild's charter, which states you will be suspended if you commit a crime against any guild member. Crimes in this case include stealing something or killing someone. There is some flexibility here. For example, if you steal something, but you are never detected, then you don't have to worry about being suspended. However, the same doesn't apply to murder, which will always result in you being suspended from the guild.

Oblivion Remastered: Should You Give Fingers Of The Mountain To Earana Or Teekeeus?
Both Earana and Teekeeus have something to offer, but you don't necessarily have to stick to only one reward in this Oblivion Remastered quest.
That said, it isn't always apparent when you're stealing something that belongs to a Mages Guild member. In my case, I found a horse walking around unattended outside Leyawiin. I saw that the icon to ride was red, so I knew I was stealing, but I didn't realize it belonged to another member of the guild. After I hopped on, I got a notification that I'd been suspended from the Mages Guild, and my key to the guild halls was taken from my inventory. If your crime is committed in a Mages Guild area, you'll also be forcibly removed.
How To Reverse Mages Guild Suspension
Raminus Polus At The Arcane University Will Give You A Task
To begin the process of reversing your suspension from the Mages Guild, you'll have to start by heading to the Arcane University to speak with Raminus Polus. Polus can be found in the lobby, so you don't have to worry about going to find him while not being allowed further into the university. Once you speak with him, you will be given a chance to redeem yourself by collecting certain materials. These change depending on your crime. If you steal, you'll need to collect 20 Dragon's Tongues and 20 Redwort Flowers. For murder, it's 20 Daedra Heart and 20
Vampire Dust.
You can farm infinite Daedra Hearts if you have reached Garlas Malatar during the quest Umaril the Unfeathered. Auroran enemies will continue to spawn indefinitely until you finish the quest, and they drop Daedra hearts.

Once you've collected the necessary items, bring them back to Raminus Polus who will collect them and reinstate you in the Mages Guild. In the original Oblivion, there was apparently a glitch where you only needed 20 of one of the items for your first offense. If you were suspended a second time, this glitch didn't work. I haven't tested the glitch in Oblivion Remastered yet, but it's worth trying seeing as many of the original game's glitches and errors seem to have been left intentionally to preserve the experience of playing the original game.
How Many Times Can You Be Suspended?
You Can Be Suspended Twice Before Being Permanently Removed
You can be suspended from the Mages Guild twice. Each time, you will be given the task matching your crime to accomplish in order to be let back in. If you commit a third offense, you will be permanently expelled from the Mages Guild and there is nothing you can do to get back in, except load a save prior to being expelled. The only exception is if you have reached the highest rank in the Mages Guild, Arch-Mage, in which case you can't be kicked out no matter what you do.

How To Get An Unbreakable Lockpick In Oblivion Remastered
Oblivion Remastered’s lockpicking mini-game can be tough, but there’s a hidden sidequest that ensures you’ll never have to play it again.
It's best to avoid getting permanently kicked out of the Mages Guild because you'll lose out on perks like the ability to enchant or make spells. Also, several of Oblivion Remastered's best spell merchants are in the Arcane University, so you won't be able to buy from them if you are permanently kicked out. You'll also gain access to an Enchanted Chest if you become Arch-Mage that lets you duplicate ingredients. Overall, you'll want to make sure you maintain at least some standing with the Mages Guild if you want to play a magic in Oblivion Remastered.
