Ever since Moon Knight came out, it has been received with largely positive reviews. A lot of these reactions can't help but appreciate the entire cast's acting skills, as well as the plot and cinematography. Oscar Isaac, who plays the titular role of Marc Spector, has taken the role as an opportunity to showcase his phenomenal acting talent, and everyone watching can't help but applaud.
Now that the first season has concluded, fans can't wait for Isaac's character to be more involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While there is no news yet regarding if or where Marc might show up next in the ever-expanding Universe, this is a great time to see how the actor might fare acting alongside potential Marvel co-stars by looking back at movies and shows where he's already shared a scene or two with existing - and new - Marvel heroes and villains.
Corey Stoll a.k.a. Darren Cross/Yellowjacket
Based on a Swedish series of the same name, Scenes From A Marriage focuses on a couple in crisis. Jessica Chastain acts opposite Oscar Isaac and both their performances have been applauded by audiences and critics alike. For Marvel fans, however, it’s Peter - a friend of the couple’s - who will stand out.
Corey Stoll also played Darren Cross, better known as Yellowjacket, in the Ant-Man movie. Though Isaac and Stoll will definitely not be appearing together in the MCU, wanting to watch them act together is a great excuse to watch this phenomenal mini-series.
Stellan Skarsgard a.k.a. Professor Selvig
Looking at the character of Baron Harkonnen in Dune, it’s no surprise that a lot of viewers were shocked to learn Stellan Skarsgard was the actor under that monstrous suit - everyone who’s seen the movie can it that he made them uncomfortable and, possibly, terrified. While Skarsgard and Oscar Isaac will no longer be acting together in that franchise, there is still hope in the MCU.
Skarsgard plays the scientist Dr. Eric Selvig who is likely to show up, or at the very least be mentioned, in Thor: Love and Thunder. Isaac plays the recently debuted Moon Knight. Unlikely as it may be, the two could still cross paths, and it would be great to see them play such drastically different characters while performing opposite each other.
Ben Kingsley a.k.a. Trevor Slattery/The Mandarin
It's highly improbable that characters like Trevor Slattery and Marc Spector will ever cross paths. Not only will Ben Kingsley probably only portray Slattery in cameos (if that), but even imagining an interaction between the two seems unnatural, albeit potentially hilarious. Instead, fans of the two actors can watch Operation Finale.
The movie loosely follows the true events of the capture and trial of Adolf Eichmann, a manipulative Holocaust perpetrator during the Second World War, played phenomenally by Kingsley. Isaac plays Peter Malkin, the Mossad agent involved in his arrest.
Josh Brolin a.k.a. Thanos
Josh Brolin has played the biggest villain in the MCU until now, one whose appearance was teased as early as The Avengers. Fortunately for the people living in the fictional world, Thanos was defeated in Avengers: Endgame. Unfortunately for fans watching in the real world, this means that the chances of Brolin playing a character opposite Isaac are slim to none.
There is, however, even more unfortunate news. While Isaac and Brolin played Duke Leto and Gurney Halleck - the Duke's trusted and highly skilled weapons master - in Villeneuve’s Dune, the two are not going to share the screen again in that franchise due to the Duke’s death and Halleck’s unknown circumstances.
Chris Pratt a.k.a. Peter Quill/Star Lord
10 Years came out exactly ten years before Oscar Isaac became the now-lauded Moon Knight. It also came out two years before Peter Quill ed the MCU, though it feels like it was a lot longer than that. In it, the two actors play high school friends who’re meeting up with a gang of classmates on their ten-year reunion.
Isaac’s Reeves is a very Steven Grant-esque character and Pratt’s Cully is a very Peter Quill-esque character. The two don’t particularly get along, and it would be fun to see if their MCU counterparts would. As an additional bonus, the movie also stars Anthony Mackie - though he doesn’t share too many scenes with the other two.
Willem Dafoe a.k.a. Norman Osborn/Green Goblin
With Spider-Man: No Way Home, Dafoe’s Norman Osborn has officially ed the ranks of the best villains that the MCU has to offer. Though unlikely, watching any interaction between Green Goblin and Moon Knight would be enough for every fan’s Peter-tingle to be activated.
While Dafoe might be on sabbatical from the MCU for a while, his performance as Vincent Van Gogh in At Eternity’s Gate is a great alternative to the time. Isaac plays opposite him as Paul Gauguin, another exemplary artist who was only appreciated posthumously. They also starred together in The Card Counter.
Russell Crowe a.k.a. Zeus
Russell Crowe and Oscar Isaac’s paths crossed all the way back in 2010 when the former played the titular character in Robin Hood. Isaac, on the other hand, played the role of the tyrant King John. Cut to exactly 12 years later, both the actors have taken on Marvel characters that debut within three months of each other. Not only that, they both play Gods - kind of.
With Marc Spector’s story completely based on Egyptian mythology, it is unlikely that he will get to cross paths with Russell’s Zeus - a God from Greek mythology who will be appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder. Given that Zeus will likely be killed off to introduce Gorr, it seems impossible for them to cross paths. However, fans can always turn to Robin Hood if they want to see the potential of the two actors sharing the screen and fantasize about what could have been.
Christian Bale a.k.a. Gorr The God Butcher
Christian Bale has ed the MCU, and if the recent trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder is any indication, he’s here to terrify. While there were initial plans to tease Gorr the God Butcher in Moon Knight before having him show up in Thor, unfortunately, that idea was scrapped and fans were robbed of the two characters coming face to face.
But fans of the two actors can watch them play Mikael and Chris in the historical drama The Promise. The movie is set during the final years of the Ottoman Empire and was released with the intention to educate audiences about the history of that time period.
Natalie Portman a.k.a. Dr. Jane Foster/Mighty Thor
Ever since the teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder dropped, fans have been hyped for Natalie Portman’s return, not just as Jane Foster but also the Mighty Thor. While this in and of itself is an extremely exciting development, so is the possibility of Mighty Thor meeting Moon Knight.
Until these daydreams come to fruition, fans can watch the two in Annihilation, playing husband and wife. The movie is a fun watch for sci-fi/horror lovers and also stars Tessa Thompson, someone who Portman is definitely sharing the screen with in the next Thor.
Elizabeth Olsen a.k.a. Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlet Witch
After Wanda’s character arc throughout the MCU, it would be great to see her interact with Marc, Steven, or Jake - each alter brings his own unique characteristics. There is a good chance for their paths to cross given that Wanda is a very prominent character and Moon Knight’s prominence is on an increasing trajectory. While holding out hope, fans can always watch In Secret to see them together.
The movie follows their characters - Therese and Laurent - in an extramarital affair. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. What starts out as a romantic drama turns into a crime thriller in the blink of an eye. And then it takes a turn for the tragic. A great movie that exhibits their chemistry and gives a glimpse into what MCU fans have to look forward to!
