At the time of this story's publication, Peacemaker season 2 has not received an official premiere date, but it is expected to debut sometime in 2025. Gunn is only directing a handful of episodes in Peacemaker season 2 in light of also helming the new Superman movie, which recently wrapped production.

Peacemaker Will Maintain Some Key DCEU Continuity
Despite Peacemaker season 2 being a continuation of what Gunn started in season 1, the DC Studios co-CEO has made it clear that the Max drama will address the DC Universe shifts. Most of the Peacemaker cast is set to return in season 2, but not everything will necessarily be canon when they return as part of the DC Universe timeline. Whether there is an actual multiverse storyline involved to address how it stands within the DC Universe remains to be seen, but it isn't outside the realm of possibility.
The most concrete information there is about the Peacemaker season 2 story is that it will take place sometime after whatever happens in the Superman movie next summer. However, Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr. is set to appear in Peacemaker season 2 after making his animated DC Universe debut in Creature Commandos, with Gunn teasing that he and Cena's character "have a little unfinished business to take care of." With that in mind, they are clearly keeping Peacemaker's actions from The Suicide Squad canon, where he killed Rick Flag Jr., as part of the DC Universe continuity.

Additional Peacemaker season 2 set photos have also teased the notion that some key characters who were dead in season 1 may now be alive again, as things may have played out differently in the DC Universe canon. With all the mystery surrounding Peacemaker season 2's position in the DC Universe, it will definitely be fascinating to see what Gunn has in store for the audience. Hopefully, once the show is finished filming, it won't be too long until Gunn reveals the first trailer for the new season.
