A new the DCU's Chapter 1: "Gods and Monsters" is how DC Studios is integrating the second season of the Peacemaker TV show into James Gunn's DC reboot, since John Cena's titular character and several other DCEU figures will be returning. As Peacemaker season 2 is set to arrive in August, the world will be getting those answers soon, while also getting to see the continuation of Christopher Smith's journey.
Gunn and Cena were recently at CCXP Mexico, where they promoted Peacemaker season 2, which included a new behind-the-scenes featurette. Luckily, DC Studios has shared the Peacemaker season 2 preview, which includes several of the main cast giving fans a closer look at what is coming up in the sophomore season. Check it out below:
Just like season 1, Peacemaker season 2 will consist of eight episodes and is confirmed to premiere on August 21. Peacemaker season 2 is also confirmed to take place after the events of Gunn's Superman movie, which arrives in theaters on July 11.
What The Peacemaker Season 2 Preview Means For The Show
One of the biggest teases that came out of the first Peacemaker season 2 trailer was that the multiverse may be a factor in the DCU TV show's new season, as two versions of Cena's character were spotted. Assuming it isn't a clone, and that it is the multiverse concept they are running with as the direction for Peacemaker season 2, the latest preview makes it an even bigger point. After being killed off in Peacemaker season 1, a new version of White Dragon is seen in action throughout the behind-the-scenes material for season 2, which could be the DCU doppelgänger of the DCEU foe.
The White Dragon who is seen in Peacemaker season 2 is instead sporting a white-and-blue design for his costume, unlike his DCEU counterpart, whose design was white-and-red. If this is meant to be the DCU's White Dragon, it will give Cena a very fascinating story, as he now has to deal with a brand-new version of the character. Outside of the White Dragon tease, the Peacemaker season 2 preview gives a lot of glimpses of some of the action scenes in the new season.

After seeing the White Dragon again and getting a new look at the Peacemaker cast being reunited for season 2, it will be fascinating to see how the show grows when it premieres in the fall, especially now it's part of the DCU. This is especially true given it seems the teases for the show so far promise a gripping storyline for the series, whether that's via it exploring the multiverse or approaching things from other perspectives. Hopefully, given how long it has been since season 1 aired, the wait for Peacemaker season 2 will have been worth it.
