Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould is developing a new drama for FX starring a fan-favorite You star in the series' leading role. Gould is best known for writing multiple series finale of Better Call Saul, titled "Saul Gone." The series premiere of the show, which Gould also wrote, won a 2015 WGA award for Best Dramatic Episode, emphasizing his dedicated work on the series.
Now, Deadline has confirmed that Gould has a pilot in development for FX, a drama series titled Disinherited. The show will feature You star Victoria Pedretti and The Good Doctor actor Kiera Allen as two sisters who end up with an unexpected inheritance. Per the series' description, the pair will be dealing with "generational wealth and long-buried crimes" as they adjust to their new lives. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue of T-Street are executive producers alongside Gould, with FX Productions attached as a producer. Gould is also the writer for the pilot episode.
What To Expect From Gould's New TV Show
The Stars Are Perfect For Their Roles
Pedretti is best known for playing Love in the cast of You seasons 2 and 3, the main character's latest obsession who quickly turns out to be just as obsessive as he is. She is also known for her roles in the Netflix horror series The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, having been nominated for multiple awards in her roles. Allen has appeared in a guest capacity on both The Good Doctor and Watson, while having also co-starred with Sarah Paulson in the 2020 psychological horror movie Run.

Breaking Bad's Failed Spinoff Nobody Re Could Have Been Great With These 4 Changes
Breaking Bad has had a brilliant live-action spinoff show as well as a great sequel movie, but the franchise also offered up an awful animated series.
Both actors have strong credentials that make their roles in Disinherited fitting. Gould's career as a writer and producer for two of the most critically-acclaimed shows of all time also makes the series seem like a strong choice for FX to pick up. The network is no stranger to award-winning TV shows, either, with series like Fargo, Shōgun, and the The Bear season 4 falling into those same categories. While not much is known about the show, its creator and stars' proven abilities make it more likely to be a success.
Our Take On Gould's Disinherited TV Show
A Strong Next Step For The Better Call Saul Co-Creator
Disinherited seems like the beginning of a new era for Peter Gould, whose only credits since 2011 have been Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. His dedication to both highly acclaimed series raises the bar of expectation for his new FX show, something he's already proven he has the capacity to handle. With two leads who seem like perfect fits for the series' premise, it seems the more info comes out about the show, the clearer its future success is going to be.
