The rumors were true: there really is a PlayStation State of Play scheduled for September 2024. Effectively an answer to the Nintendo Direct, State of Play is Sony's semi-annual event for the announcement of new games, consoles, and other tech in the PlayStation family. It's a platform for Sony to update its fans on everything new they can expect from the PlayStation platform in the coming months, and frequently hosts major new game announcements that make it a highly anticipated event.
PlayStation has finally confirmed a State of Play for September 24, 2024 (i.e., tomorrow) at 3:00 PM PDT, via a post on the official State of Play would arrive in late September.

PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection Already Has A Major Problem & Preorders Haven't Even Started Yet
A beautiful product is being saddled with a frustrating release decision, and it might stop a lot of fans from getting their hands on one.
According to the blog post, over 20 different games are expected to be featured, including titles for both the PS5 and the PS VR2 headset. While no specific titles have yet to be confirmed, and there are relatively few credible rumors regarding PlayStation releases, it may be possible to guess at some of the show's biggest announcements.
Everything Expected At The September 2024 State Of Play
(And A Few Unexpected Announcements)
First, let's start with the obvious: already confirmed PS5 titles like the Silent Hill 2 remake and Death Stranding 2 will likely receive some kind of mention during the September 2024 State of Play, perhaps in the form of a new trailer for Silent Hill, or a release date for Death Stranding 2. The recently announced PS5 Pro can also reasonably be expected to make an appearance, perhaps in a flashy new sizzle reel, or alongside announcements of launch titles.
Then there are the rumors. An ESRB rating earlier this month basically confirmed that "less exciting" remaster coming to PlayStation soon. Many quickly latched onto the idea of this being the long-awaited Bloodborne PS5 release, but frankly, "less exciting" is probably not the appropriate descriptor for such a thing. Other PlayStation titles, like Days Gone or God of War, are much more likely candidates.

New PS6 Rumor Hints At Good News For Those Wanting A PS Vita 2
New rumors regarding the PlayStation 6 suggest that Sony could be making some early moves to return to handhelds despite the PS Vita's failure.
Marvel's Spider-Man developers Insomniac Games also have a couple of things in the works, according to leaks from earlier this year. A Wolverine game is expected to be released in 2026, and a Venom game sometime before that. If Venom is due out in 2025, the September 2024 State of Play could be the perfect chance to reveal that. Others have speculated that new titles could be coming from one or more of PlayStation Studios' own development companies: Sucker Punch Productions, developers of Ghost of Tsushima, or Naughty Dog, developers of The Last of Us and Uncharted, for example.
But in all honesty, whatever's planned for the 20-plus games to be revealed, most of them are probably going to be surprises. Very little has been confirmed, thus far, and if any of the rumors are accurate, these devs have kept it well under wraps. The rest have to wait until the actual event, but with a September 24 air date, players won't have too much time to worry about what's coming at the State of Play.
