Although the movie is up against all the standard "time travel paradoxes" which make this type of sci Fi notoriously hard to write well, the original Back to the Future still stands up in 2024 as a fun, interesting, and superior film presentation which always entertains kids and adults alike. It captured the 80's feel like no other while jumping around to various B stories in other decades. This should be at the top of everyone's "Desert Island" film list.
