See AllSolo Leveling May Have Won Anime of the Year, But 1 Show Deserved the Accolade So Much More
Honestly, there is nothing particularly groundbreaking about Solo leveling. Yes, its a pretty good anime, but it fundamentally is your bog standard anime. Art is pretty good, the action is pretty good, and it has its moments. However, at the end of the day it is your run of the mill dweeb character gets cheat codes and becomes the badass.
I've never seen anything like Frieren before (personally.) I it, I dont read manga and I am not a connoisseur of anime, but as a life long D&D player, I absolutely love the premise of Frieren. The long lived elf and how they perceive the world through that long life. It's deep and emotional and each and every episode is almost a story unto itself. Unlike Solo leveling, which is again, your typical cheat code anime.
Nothing in particular stands out about Solo Leveling.
