See AllBreath Of The Wild On Switch 2 Is Proof Nintendo Doesn't Understand Its Fans Anymore
I said this above, but I'll give two examples.
When Nintendo upgraded Mario Kart from Wii U to Switch, they included the Wii U dlc packs.
And looking at a competitor, when Sony upgraded Spider-Man to PS5, they charged $70, $20 to upgrade - and gave you two full games plus the dlcs.
Also, most other AAA adventure games getting ported to the console or already on Switch have definitive editions with dlc. Cyberpunk and Elden Ring, for example, will be coming in complete editions to the platform.
It doesn't make you not a fan to question why they're making a certain change from both their own prior practices and generally industry standard. It's also worth noting that if they succeed in CHANGING industry standard away from this, we risk losing by having other companies decide that definitive editions with DLCs bundled aren't necessary.
Breath Of The Wild On Switch 2 Is Proof Nintendo Doesn't Understand Its Fans Anymore
I think what people are looking for is what you usually see with most other games like this by now. Witcher 3 has LONG included the dlcs. Cyberpunk 2077 is currently making a with DLC version to coincide with the Switch release. Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring will include Shadows of the Erdtree bundled. Skyrim, and Bethesda games in general after a certain point, bundle in their expansions. Not on Switch, but Mass Effect, Dragon Age titles before Veilguard, Outer Worlds Spacers Choice edition (the Switch version of Outer Worlds doesn't have Spacers Choice, but they do price the game plus dlcs so that it would only cost $60 to get to all - and routinely drop the price on sales)... really the list goes on for AAA adventure and RPG titles just bundling in dlc or releasing new editions with the dlc included after a certain point.
That Nintendo doesn't isn't surprising, necessarily, as a normal practice. They dont often do same-console reissues, and they cover that whole image that they release their games in an evergreen state of quality. But that they would position a version for a NEW console and not cook up a "Definitive Edition" is a little weird. To put in perspective, when Mario Kart 8 got the "Deluxe" treatment, it did include the DLC up to that point. And comparing with a competitor, when the PS5 came out, Sony took their flagship Spider-Man games and put out a $70 version ($20 upgrade for existing owners iirc) that included BOTH games (Spidey and the Miles spinoff) and the dlc plus visual and performance upgrades. And they actually got attacked for charging lol. Now Nintendo gives less and people are like "so what, it makes sense."
Snow White's Box Office Is A Harsh Reminder Of Rachel Zegler's Prior Disappointments
People were upset with a couple of interviews prior to the release of Snow White. However, no one knew who she was in the run up to West Side Story and her performance was generally praised. No one avoided Fury of the Gods over HER, there was plenty of DC/Warner Bros studio drama that lowered confidence in that. Y2K was a goofie indie film with next to no marketing - I saw that in theaters and forgot she was even in it until I was in my seat lol. Nobody saw the trailer a with a gestalt appliance slasher and thought "this looks thought-provoking, but that girl from the Shazam romance side plot is a bridge too far." Songbirds & Snakes stairs nobody's favorite HG book at a time when audiences weren't asking for YA Dystopia #47
Why The IT Miniseries Is The Better Adaptation Of The Stephen King Book (& Made All Millennials Terrified Of Clowns)
"In the movies, Pennywise seems like some unknowable monster, which distances it from the Losers. In the miniseries, Pennywise mimics a human well."
If you think this is a knock against the movies, then you didn't read the book. Don't get me wrong, I love both and both have their strong suits over the other. Tim Curry's performance is iconic! But the needs of the adaptation to solidify a villain figure as well as save on effects required them to ham up the stalker bully clown figure in a way the It creature didn't lean into in the novel - and It also didn't understand humans as much as It thinks it did. It was convinced the clown was perfect for blending in because kids love it, while photos show kids being scared or put off in "his" public presence. But the majority of Its attacks were playing on fears in various other forms - so much so that by the time they raid Its house they're all geared up to fight a WEREWOLF.
Spider-Man is Immune To Vampires For The Coolest Reason, Even if Marvel Has Totally Forgotten It
Correct. I was going to comment something similar. Miles’ origin is unique – the Oz formula that gave him powers isn’t radioactive like Peter’s classic origin but rather a failed super-soldier experiment. It’s what led to his powers, and oddly enough, it also has some quasi-immortal properties. We’ve seen characters with the Oz formula come back from ‘death’ after hibernating, though it’s speculative if Miles has this too since he hasn’t actually died yet (unlike 1610 Peter or Norman).
But as for the vampirism bit – it’s true that Marvel’s played around with healing factors counteracting vampirism before. Miles doesn’t have a full-on regen factor like Logan or Deadpool, but he does heal faster than 616 Peter. And healing factors can be ‘distracted’ by injuries or a weakened state, letting vampirism take hold. Wolverine’s been turned before, and his healing eventually works with the curse rather than against it. Marvel didn’t dive too deep into those mechanics here, but nothing feels broken.
I'm curious to see how far they’ll go with this. Marvel ran with Jubilee’s vampirism for like 5 years IIRC, so there’s definitely precedent. Although, valid difference there is vampirism was a backup power for her after losing her actually more broken mutant power set (when she cuts loose), whereas it stacks with Miles and just makes an already kinda OP character even more busted lol
Why You Need A PS5 Pro (Even If You Think You Don't)
Right? I got - it's expensive, has a bigger hard drive, and one game is confirmed for enhancements lol
