Not sure about this, but when Rand has his earliest vision and is talking to Mierin, she mentions Lews Theron. So surely Rand's ancestor can't be Lews Therin, and how are they connected?

I think that if I hadn't read the books, then I would consider the TV series absolutely fantastic. However, with every episode I find myself waiting for certain things to occur, only to be disappointed. I will continue to watch, and I am quite excited by the trailer. So, fingers crossed. The Wheel weaves...

Definitely agree with those who suggest The Riftwar Saga and Shannara. Also, growing up and going forwards, was totally immersed in Anne McCaffery, both Pern series and Crystal Singer books. As a YA, also loved The Belgariad and The Mallorean.
