"Nobody Needs To See Carrie Again": Carrie Star Matthew Lillard Breaks Down Why Mike Flanagan Is Updating Stephen King's Story 50 Years Later
I'm actually hopeful. Yes, I rolled my eyes to hear they were making Carrie again. (Can we please see The Running Man soon! The Schwarzenegger vehicle was a travesty, and I've been waiting to wash that taste out of my brain for 40 years.) But Flanagan's track record, for me, is stellar. He's done a fantastic job adapting King's work so far. I believe we're in the Golden Age of King adaptations. And while the B-movie 80's and 90's were fun - I love me some Maximum Overdrive - the 2000's are far more gratifying. Oh, and as to the money-grubbing accusations, I have no doubt the studios are all about it. But, Flanagan is a fan. I imagine he's having a ball.
