See AllCobra Kai Abandoning Its Original Premise Gave Us The Show's Best Villain
The first season was brilliant writing. But then it went off the rails and became Dawson's Creek with Karate Chops. I can see bringing back virtually every notable character as long as they had a good Reason to be back and would be a fundamental addition to the storyline. hich usually wasn't the case.. It was mostly for nostalgia purposes.. Then way way way to many teenagers to keep up with. I understand they needed a class for a dojo, but they can bring in extras, we don't need the back story of every single one of them. Not to mention we spend most of the time wondering who's dating who, which slowed everything down.. And even the new movie is suffering because people were expecting the cobra Kai story to resume.. Which wasn't the point of that film at All
I loved the first season when it was simple, nostalgic., but written beautifully putting those characters into the realistic situations of today... And it should have stayed that way. Instead of being saturated with unneeded characters from awkward and uncomfortable teenage lovers quarrels to unrealistic vendettas from 40 years ago. Terry Silver pointless in 89 and he was pointless in the series. I don't understand why Kreese wasn't enough of an antagonist to be able to carry that banner without his ponytailed sidekick.. It may have not lasted 6 seasons, but at least it would have been true to itself.
I'm Massively Disappointed In Ralph Macchio's Role In Karate Kid: Legends After Cobra Kai
Welcome to the club of people noticing Hollywood producers have zero new ideas so they hope to make money off of an existing franchise.. ( By the way don't throw around the term martial arts master too loosely. Jackie Chan is obviously one. But Ralph Macchio? come on now.) see everyone's going to see this movie, which wasn't good anyway, and excepting to see Dawson's creek with karate chops aka cobra Kai continue, the 2 opus' are 2 sets of people using the same franchise to make money. One doesn't care what how the others version of the character developed.. They are obviously nowhere near Canon with eachother,. Macchio is just thrilled to be making a paycheck right now he don't care if they write in a green alien floating next to his shoulder, or if he has to start training his little long-lost cousin named Oliver.. Life is nothing but one disappointment after another. The sooner you realize that and the more you stop expecting things to be nice and neat and contiguous, and that the grass always seems greener simply because it is, and the karate kid franchise is just another Hollywood money pit with open ended nonsensical and non canonical Story telling, then the happier you'll be in life.
How Long Daniel LaRusso Actually Trained With Mr. Miyagi In The Karate Kid
Daniel did have a little bit of experience coming from New Jersey as he itted after being pushed off the cliff that he took classes at the YMCA, which is probably like unlearning how to fight.
Karate Kid: Legends Will Feel Very Weird If It Doesn’t Acknowledge Its 2 Biggest Missing Karate Kid Characters
Ok Cobra Kai is done. Thankfully so... It started out as an honestly great idea viewing everything from Johnny's Perspective in a modern day world until it spun out of control and eventually became Dawson's Creek with punches and kicks. I hope Legends cleans the canon up a little because there were more charactors to try to keep up with in Cobra Kai than on the first season of Facts of Life and an Indian sitcom combined..
And who is Dre Parker?
Cobra Kai's Final Karate Kid Cameo Explained: Do You [SPOILER]?
They only ones left they didn't bring back were the two drunks at the beach who used Myagis truck as a bar.
How Cobra Kai's Series Ending Changed From The Creators' Original Plan Explained: "We Had Our Heads With Johnny & Daniel"
Should have stuck with the original premise and made it narrative from Johnny's perspective. Otherwise it should have been retitled 'The Karate Kids.' whole the cameos from the original films were always entertaining. Did we really need every last one to show back up? Even Jessica? Duh, didn't she move to Cleveland or Indianapolis or somewhere around the rust belt? The scene at the end of season 5 which saw Daniel with his three OG Antagonists riding in the same vehicle was fun l, but again, farfetched.. Idk where legends will connect with this series gone off the rails, but a rich guy who owns a car lot doesn't show up at the same house he made a dojo out of for 6 seasons in a taxi cab. Something is falling out of Canon.
