The beginning of the walking dead was written in the comics. While the scene is very similar and 28 days later came out first, it was only by weeks - and if you know anything about production schedules for comic books it is obvious that Kirkman didn't know about that scene when he created his intro. It's a case of two creators having the same idea without referencing each other
