Whoever wrote that sounds a bit of a young wimp, especially by putting their own wimpish ideas of how a teenage boy should react, compared to today to the 80s. Personally, I feel the standards of today is worse than anything in the 70s or 80s. We were all a bit more normal then. I think Marty McFly is a well rounded character, he is a teenager, and has all the characteristics of a normal boy of that period and probably today.
