Damian Desmond is an increasingly complex, sympathetic character raised by the most crucial Ostanian characters in Spy x Family, but this projects a grim reality for the young scion. Damian spent his earliest chapters as more of a bully to Anya Forger than anything else, with his childish behavior significantly hindering Loid's plans to create a meaningful connection with the Desmond family. But much of Damian's behavior, especially his recent cravings for adventure, indicates a sense of discomfort with the Desmond family's home life in Spy x Family.
Given Damian Desmond's position as one of Loid Forger aka Agent Twilight's key objectives as a means to meet with Donovan, it's important that he grows as a well-adjusted individual and is sociable enough to spend time with Anya. Moreover, he's a six-year-old child who deserves at least a good childhood, which is something his butlers seem determined to provide for him even if his parents more often appear indifferent.
The depressing reality is that Damian Desmond has a troubled home life he wishes not to encounter as much as possible, with either his mother, his brother, or his father.

Latest Spy x Family Chapter Shows Damian Reluctant to Be at Home
The Desmond Family Takes Its Toll
In Spy x Family chapter #104, Damian Desmond plots an adventure to make archaeological discoveries in unexplored regions, promising a Stella Star for Eden Academy students who unearth them. This could have easily been perceived as a filler chapter, but at numerous points, Damian talks about not wishing to return home, namely without first securing a Stella Star, but even at the end, when he wishes to go to a Berlint restaurant instead of eating at home.
Damian's desire not to go home in chapter #104 alludes to his family similarly avoiding him, hinting at Spy x Family's dark undertones. There are plenty of precedents for Damian's discomfort, namely the precious few times his father visits him in public in chapter #37, the pressure not to besmirch the Desmond name in Spy x Family, and his other troubled interactions with his relatives.
This includes Melinda's menacing dark internal monologue upon learning Damian is okay after the Red Circus Arc in chapter #75, and Damian's clear avoidance of her in chapter #76. Finally, Damian feels additional pressure and distance from his brother, Demetrius Desmond, as shown in Spy x Family chapter #93.
Melinda and Donovan also have seemingly indifferent reactions to Anya hitting Damian. They are more concerned with him upholding the family name above all else.
What this means for Damian in Spy x Family is uncertain, but it's clear that the Desmond family has drastically changed over the years, namely with Donovan growing less involved with his children. Anya picks up on this, too, noting Melinda's odd behavior, Demetrius' eerily silent mind possibly indicating Anya can't read certain Desmonds' minds in Spy x Family, and more. However, one other character is concerned about Damian Desmond, who is a fascinating case study.
Jeeves Shows Increasing Devotion as a Desmond Family Butler
Damian's Servant Is Always There for Him
Jeeves, Damian Desmond's butler, is present for many of his outings, including the archaeological dig, and is noted by Emile and Ewen's attending servants as coddling the boy too much in Spy x Family chapter #104. He is keenly aware of Damian's avoidance of his home and of his mother Melinda, while he still encourages the boy to give his mother a chance.
This leads to fascinating speculations, such as a possible family connection between Jeeves and Melinda; his dark hair could be a clue, suggesting he is potentially Melinda's brother and thus Damian's uncle, but this is pure Spy x Family speculation. Jeeves' appearances are limited in Spy x Family. Still, he had previously spent time with Damian, reminding the boy that Melinda had prepared the meal he ate in chapter #76 before returning to a different residence.
In Spy x Family chapter #93, Damian talks about being told that Donovan used to spend more time with Demetrius, with Jeeves present in the flashback, indicating that he was the one who likely told Damian this in confidence.
What's also interesting is that Damian confides in Jeeves, or at least trusts him with his secrets, such as his clear crush on Anya, and how much he agonized over his outfit at the end-of-term party from chapters #95 and #96. Even if Damian has a troubled home life in Spy x Family, he has Jeeves to lean on as a butler and confidant.
