Suits LA has a lot of buzz circulating about the spin-off to the incredibly popular original series, but details for the series and its characters remain scarce. Suits originally ran from 2011 to 2019, and while the show enjoyed a high level of success during its run, it found new life on streaming giant Netflix years after the series ended. Suits had an incredible run, consistently appearing on the Nielsen streaming report throughout most of 2023, and racking up more than 57.7 billion minutes watched (via Variety).

Following on from that tremendous success and momentum, the creator of Suits, Aaron Korsh, returns to create the spin-off series which will see another group of lawyers on the West Coast. The show is just now going into production with regular announcements about casting and snippets of details about the premise of the show. Featuring talented and well-known actors such as Stephen Amell, from Arrow, and Josh McDermitt of The Walking Dead, the show appears promising.

6 Ted Black (Played By Stephen Amell)

Name Partner At Black Lane Law

Stephen Amell is set to lead the new series as a former New York-based prosecutor, Ted Black. Ted began his career in New York, hinting at a connection to the cast of the original series, but he moved out to LA 15 years before the events of Suits LA, which could mean he worked alongside Harvey and Cameron Dennis. In LA, Ted has built a practice that caters to some of the biggest and most powerful names in the city. The series will see Ted and his firm in a crisis, with Ted's past coming back to haunt him.

While the character has built a successful career, the show will see him put to the test, as he needs to save his practice and navigate personal and professional problems that often become blurred. Josh McDermitt, who previously appeared as Eugene Porter in The Walking Dead, s the cast as Ted's partner at Black Lane Law. When Lane fled to LA 15 years prior, he teamed up with his old friend Lane in order to build a firm that specialized in criminal and entertainment law (via Deadline). He is also described as being "energetic, powerful, focused and self-absorbed." From descriptions of the character, it appears as though he will share these attributes in common with Louis Litt, which may see the dynamic between him and Ted appearing similar to Harvey and Louis in Suits.

However, since their friendship is established, and the pair were both name partners at their firm from the start, there is likely to be a built-in mutual respect and appreciation of each other. McDermitt's work on The Walking Dead appears to be a far cry from the character of Stuart Lane, which will be a great opportunity for the actor to display a very different side to his acting. Stuart Lane will certainly be a prominent figure in the show and a co-star with Stephen Amell.

FBI Agent Turned Private Investigator

Troy Winbush, of Amazon Prime's The Wilds, will also the cast of Suits LA as a character who has only had his first name revealed so far. Kevin was formerly an FBI agent and a character who has connections extending far back with Ted. However, he is now working as a Private Investigator which suggests he either retired from working in the FBI or has been released from duty. Either way, exploring his background and his connection with Ted will prove to be an interesting element of the series that could tie Ted's past with his present.

With the series promising to introduce drama and conflict as colleagues mix their personal and professional lives, along with competing to make a name for themselves, it appears that Erica Rollins, played by Lex Scott Davis, will be pivotal in the conflict. Rollins is a rising star at the law firm, who is characterized as savvy and shrewd (via NBC). While she is clearly making waves with her work, she is also someone who seeks to test her associates and gauge their loyalty, which will certainly be a source of conflict.

Davis has previously appeared in films like The First Purge, and Ricky Stanicky, where she has played major roles, but Suits LA will likely be the next big step forward in her career. Dodson is on track to land a big promotion at the firm, but things are likely to get messy, and the path to success is never that simple in the world of Suits. Fortunately, Greenberg is up to the task with his experience in acting stretching back as far as 1997. He had a prominent recurring role on One Tree Hill early in his career and has continued to go from strength to strength ever since.

Associate Attorney Working With Erica Rollins

Showcasing how impressive young Erica Rollins is and her position within the firm, she has been tasked with supervising an associate attorney named Leah. Leah will be played by Alice Lee, who voices Lois Lane in My Adventures with Superman, and plays Emily in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. Very little is revealed about her character apart from the connection with Erica at Black Lane Law, but as one of the first names announced attached to the series, it's likely that she will have a prominent role in Suits LA alongside her castmates.
