  • Saw this movie 3 times in a row when it was released in theaters and couldn't get enough of it. Probably my all-time favorite Quentin Tarantino movie, edging slightly above Pulp Fiction, but it really is that good. I don't think I've ever had as much pure enjoyment from a movie theater experience before in my adult life - the film flies through its 2-hour and 45-minute runtime and is constantly entertaining throughout, which is a true feat.

QT's amalgamation of comedy, adventure, and of course his love of Westerns is felt in every frame of Django Unchained, and as a filmmaker, he pulls off things that only he can get away with. The drastic zoom pulls, the over-the-top blood spatter, the larger-than-life soundtrack, the dark humor that often diverges from the narrative for the sake of the joke, it's all for the sake of pure entertainment. Inglorious Basterds may be his best film but Django offered his best movie-going experience.

  • Jamie Foxx is so good in this film. My favorite performance of his alongside Mann's Collateral. Tarantino crafts a thrilling revenge western here with a gleefully vile villain in Leonardo DiCaprio. The final shootout is insane in all the best ways. Really like this one.

  • Tarantino at his best

Hands down the movie of the year. Foxx, Waltz, and DiCaprio at their finest. I was definitely surprised by DiCaprio's role. He mastered it. The minute he steps on the scene, the movie changes dynamics. Jackson's role ed DiCaprio's, which makes it all the better.

It's a nice adventure to watch Foxx and Waltz, how they develop and become who they are.
