Apple TV+'s hit series AFC Richmond head coach Ted Lasso. The series earned rave reviews upon its arrival for its loveable, dynamic characters and Ted's incredible likeability and optimism. Ted Lasso became quite the success for Apple TV+, earning multiple Emmy nominations and other accolades, which all came after it was already picked up for three seasons.
The first season of Ted Lasso established the hallmarks the series has quickly become known for. While Sudeikis gets a lot of attention, Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, Nick Mohammed as Nathan, Jeremy Swift as Higgins, Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt, and Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent are all equally deserving of praise. Ted Lasso's charm carries over into season 2 as AFC Richmond looks to rebound after moving down to the Champions League.
Ted Lasso's opening credits song is one of the many subtly excellent parts of the series, as the original song helps set the tone of it. Luckily, viewers who understandably might want to listen to the song over and over again can easily find it as the song's name is simply "Ted Lasso Theme." It was composed by Tom Howe and Marcus Mumford, the latter better known as the lead singer of Mumford & Sons and responsible for singing the lyrics in the opening credits. Mumford and Sudeikis are good friends in real life, which is why he was asked to contribute to the show. Although the theme only plays for about 20 seconds, the full version of the Ted Lasso theme song is over two minutes long.

The Ted Lasso credits song might be an original piece of music composed specifically for the show, but Howe and Mumford took inspiration from various bands to create the right sound. The show's placement in England led them to The Beatles, as well as Liverpool's popular 1960s band Gerry and the Pacemakers. But Ted Lasso also stars an American coach as its titular character, so Howe and Mumford also listened to the American rock band Credence Clearwater Revival.
It was through references like these that Howe and Mumford found the right sound for Ted Lasso's opening song. Not only is Ted Lasso's opening credits song a great way to start each episode, but Howe and Mumford have gained more recognition for their excellent work. One of Ted Lasso's twenty 2021 Emmy nominations was for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, which goes to show how much people enjoy the song.
