Robyn's Team May Look Very Different

As the show progressed, Marcus’ lack of discipline became a problem for the NYPD, and he weighed a potential promotion working for the Federal Task Force in Los Angeles. Though Robyn encouraged him to go, she later changed her mind. Unfortunately, it was too late, and the couple parted ways. Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how this affects Kittles’ role, and if Marcus and Robyn can find a way to resume their romance.

One of the biggest questions surrounding The Equalizer season 5 has to be whether Robyn’s team remains intact. After Mel (Lapira) was abducted by someone in her veteran group seeking revenge, believing that she intentionally murdered his father, the character came to with her past. Could These Character Arcs Affect The Equalizer's Future?

As mentioned, Marcus heading to Los Angeles would compromise a major storyline. His relationship with Robyn changed substantially from The Equalizer season 1, and given all of that build up, having to accept his departure would be challenging for fans. From attempting to arrest Robyn, to forming a partnership and eventually growing closer, Marcus had only just made things official with Robyn in season 4. Because of how important his character development was, it seems almost impossible to continue The Equalizer without Marcus. However, the series did manage to write off William Bishop (Chris Noth), but the circumstances were different.

Noth, who came under controversy following numerous sexual assault allegations, was removed from The Equalizer after appearing in 2 seasons.

There may be more uncertainty concerning romance, as Robyn and Marcus aren’t the only couple on The Equalizer. While there is no update on Mel’s character arc, she and Harry are married on the show, so audiences should expect to catch her around, but in what capacity remains to be seen. Another main cast member throughout The Equalizer, and a crucial part of Robyn’s team, it’s equally difficult to envision the series without her. The alternative to potentially losing her and Marcus would be to replace them, but it’s not always easy to integrate new characters.

The Equalizer season 4 captured a large audience, ranking among the most-watched shows on broadcast television, behind CBS mainstays NCIS and FBI.
