MoreHow To Train Your Dragon's promos are starting to go too far...
I saw a How To Train Your Dragon promo on TV the other day that was literally just the climax of the entire final battle. Like I get that this is a remake, and that it's not exactly a spoiler, but isn't the whole point of the live-action remake is to show fans the movie in a new medium? Why spoil one of the most important scenes outside of the theatrical release? So weird.
What's your favorite Mario Kart World track?
Mario Kart World has some really fun new tracks. The open world is lot of fun, and I love how a lot of the courses have elements from past circuits in previous games. That said, I'm a really big fan of the Great ? Block Ruins, DK , the new Bowser's Castle, and of course, the latest iteration of Rainbow Road.
Okay, so what does Predator: Killer of Killers mean for the first Predator movie?
Obviously, the ending of Predator: Killer of Killers and its implications got me thinking about the rest of the franchise, specifically the first movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. I really do think the door is now open for Dutch to return, something that I think would be absolutely fantastic (especially if it meant he could potentially team-up with Amber Midthunder's Naru).
Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves need to make a movie together.
I know both of these stars are so used to being the top guy in their respective films, but after Cruise's recent comments about their friendship and his respect for Keanu Reeves, a movie with the two of them needs to happen. They've both defined the most recent eras of their career with their dedication to authentic filmmaking. Imagine combining the stunts of Mission: Impossible with the action of John Wick, with both stars using their respective skills.
Which Star Wars battle is your favorite?
There are so many amazing battles in the Star Wars canon. One of my absolute favorites has to the Battle of Coruscant. It's just such as amazing opener for Revenge of the Sith. That said, the Battle of Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back will always be iconic, and te Clone Wars is full of epic conflicts like the Liberation of Ryloth, Darkness on Umbara, and the final Siege of Mandalore.
I think a new Alien vs Predator movie should have co-directors.
Currently, Dan Trachtenberg has been leading the Predator franchise, while Fede Álvarez' Alien: Romulus was a major hit. Combined with the teases the Badlands will have ties to Alien, I think it's only a matter of time before we get a new Alien vs Predator movie, and I think it would be awesome if it was co-directed by Trachtenberg and Álvarez.
What video game has the most immersive combat?
For me, this would have to come down to a Soulsborne or Souls-like game. I've been playing a lot of Elden Ring recently so that would have to go up there, but I also want to shout out Jedi Survivor, which I think has some really underrated mechanics. As a Star Wars fan, it's such an immersive experience that feels like being a jedi.
In Elden Ring, what's the most infuriating common mob or boss type?
I'm a particularly casual gamer, so my answer will probably differ from many others, but I absolutely hate the rats in Elden Ring. I know they're really easy to kill, but there's nothing more frustrating than them coming out of nowhere and cornering you. I also absolutely despise any enemy that shoots you with magic, a catapult, or some other ranged weapon from far away.
What's the best Pokemon video game of all time?
I feel like so many people will have different answers, and a lot of it will have to do with which era one started playing. I would say that gameplay-wise, Heart Gold/Soul Silver probably claims the number one spot due to the fact that you can travel to multiple regions. However, Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee has the gameplay advantage of couch co-op, which is a ton of fun. Aesthetically, Gen 3 is my favorite, with Emerald likely being my favorite overall game.
Warhammer 40k or Mass Effect: which Amazon Prime sci-fi game adaptation is more exciting?
I think both of these series have enormous potential for sci-fi on television, but I'm personally looking forward to Warhammer a bit more right now just due to the involvement of Henry Cavill. There are some talented people working on Mass Effect, and the world-building in that series looks fascinating to me, but I feel a lesser degree of personal excitement.
After that ending, we are getting a Predator: Killer of Killers sequel, right?
Predator: Killer of Killers is now streaming on Hulu and if you have not gotten a chance to watch this incredible film yet, do not read any further. While the whole movie is high octane and a ton of fun, there are a lot of Easter eggs thrown in at the end that make me think we absolutely must be getting an animated sequel. Without too many details (in case those of you that have not watched are still reading), we see some fan favorite characters. Knowing that this movie pits those who have killed Predators before against one another, there could (and should) be an epic return to this world with those beloved characters. Count me all the way in, if so.
Blade Runner or Blade Runner 2049: Which movie is better?
I have a lot of friends who prefer 2049, and while I certainly understand why, I'm partial to the original. 2049 is flashy with vibrant colors and modern visuals, but I never really felt as strongly about the narrative. The original Blade Runner is just so prolific, and the level of craft in so many different areas that went into creating its aesthetic and atmosphere in 1982 is unbelievable. The final cut is also such a brilliant work of storytelling, and I think it's one of the pinnacles of science fiction in any medium.
Who should star in Mike Flanagan's Clayface movie?
George MacKay, Tom Blyth, Jack O'Connell, and Leo Woodall were listed as the finalists to play Clayface in the DC movie, and I think they're all compelling choices. I'd love to see Jack O'Connell ride the recent wave of hype for Sinners into a prominent new role, but George MacKay is an actor whom I was starting to like, but now haven't seen in years. I'd be happy with either one.
Is Mario Kart World worth the price tag?
My immediate reaction to hearing the price of Mario Kart World is $80 made me wonder if it was going to be worth it - but it didn't take long for me to realize it absolutely is. Made exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, the graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay is flawless, and the upgrades from the other Mario Karts add a lot of great elements to the game. I have been playing basically non-stop since I got the game, and I have not had this much fun in a while. It is a fantastic game and absolutely worth picking up to accompany your Nintendo Switch 2!
How does the new Game of Thrones RTS game look?
I won't lie, I'm slightly compelled by the aesthetic for the Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, and the fact that it won't also be a mobile release has caught my attention. That said, after Kingsroad and the previous track record for games set in this world, I'm not holding my hopes too high. The fact that you can only play as four factions is a major bummer to begin with.
Who's the strictest Below Deck captain?
Though they all have a strict streak, Captain Sandy Yawn definitely comes off as the strictest Below Deck captain to me. She’s super hands-on and doesn’t hesitate to micromanage when things go off course, and while I respect her work ethic and high standards, her leadership style can be a bit intense at times. Compared to someone like Captain Jason Chambers, who’s more laid-back, Sandy runs a much tighter, tenser ship.
I'm convinced Spider-Man: Brand New Day will repeat a superhero movie costume decision not seen in 22 years.
With no access to Stark Tech or the Avengers, I'm convinced Spider-Man: Brand New Day will see Tom Holland's Peter Parker use his suit from the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home for the whole movie. The last time a Marvel movie reused a Spider-Man costume was in 2004 when Tobey Maguire donned what was mostly his first Spider-Man suit again for his second movie as Peter Parker. Thematically, it would make sense for Spider-Man's fresh start in the MCU to be with the No Way Home suit, which he crafted on his own and is incredibly comics-accurate.
As much as I love this theory M. Night Shyamalan made a secret fourth Unbreakable movie, I'd rather him properly do a fourth movie to fix its ending.
I recently read a theory in which Trap might have secretly been the fourth movie in M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable trilogy, since Josh Hartnett's Cooper is so durable with all the injuries and attacks he endures throughout the film, to the point he might have powers. As much as I love this theory, and would like to see Shyamalan run with it, I'd much rather see him do a direct new movie in the series to make up for Glass' ending, as I felt like it was not only far too open-ended, but also killed off its main characters in underwhelming fashion.
Is From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina worth seeing in theaters?
From The World Of John Wick: Ballerina is in theaters now and while it delivers on the signature John Wick action sequences, the story leaves a lot to be desired. It is extremely predictable. There is a "twist" but most viewers will see it coming from a mile away. Ana de Armas does what she can to make the film work, but even with all the fight scenes, it feels dull at times. That said, I would love to see her come back as Eve - just with a better story next time around.
Who's the best new yachtie of Below Deck season 12 based on skill?
Below Deck season 12 has a bunch of new yachties who are in the mix on the show, and while they may not be new to the industry, they're new to the franchise. While I'm enjoying all the new yachties thus far, I think in of skill, Jess Theron and Rainbeau de Roos are the top two yachties aboard St. David. Jess has the ability to take on challenges in the exterior, while Rainbeau seems to know everything possible about the interior. Together, they're going to do a great job this season.
