Players have discovered that Tiny Tina's Wonderlands launched to generally favorable reviews last week, offering a fresh but familiar experience in the expansive Borderlands universe. That s have already begun to encounter save data-related woes hardly comes as a surprise, though, especially to anyone familiar with the lost progress issues that plagued 2019's Borderlands 3 release.

Developer Gearbox Software and publisher Take-Two Interactive announced Tiny Tina's Wonderlands as a fantasy-centric Borderlands spinoff during the Geoff Keighley-hosted Summer Game Fest 2021. Notably, the adventure places a Dungeons & Dragons spin on the whimsy and over-the-top action of Borderlands, an idea that follows in the footsteps of Borderlands 2's Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep expansion - which later launched as a standalone game. And while it seems many players have gotten nothing but enjoyment out of the latest Tiny Tina-starring adventure, plenty of other s regularly run into errors that impede core game progress.

As noted by Epic Games launcher appeared upon starting the game recently, informing him of a disparity between local and cloud saves. Since the cloud save on file seemed the most up-to-date, Tassi selected it - "that lost me my progress." Popular streamer Gothalion described a similar experience in a brief Twitter thread, arguing that Borderlands needs "server-side saves."

Again, this constitutes an issue that's plagued Borderlands games for years. Why Gearbox Software and 2K Games have yet to address it remains a mystery. Without a surefire way to recover lost progress, all Tiny Tina's Wonderlands s can do is hope that Gearbox can develop a fix. Borderlands faithful should also keep their fingers crossed for server-side save solutions in the next mainline entry.

Days ahead of release, Gearbox teased its post-launch plans for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. The Season will boast four separate content drops, featuring a seventh class, new explorable settings, additional boss characters, and a whole host of extra cosmetic items in the Butt Stallion Pack. At the time of writing, though, there's no word on when such content will begin rolling out.
