Gearbox's recently released new DLC class, Blightcaller. While it could have been assumed that Wonderlands would remain a one-off release, it has been confirmed that it will be turning into a series of its own.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a D&D-inspired spinoff of the popular shooter-looter Borderlands series, springing off the ideas in Borderlands 2's much-loved DLC expansion, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. It has earned considerable acclaim for blending Borderlands' well-known FPS gameplay with mechanics inspired by D&D and the rich genre of RPG video games that owe at least partial inspiration to the iconic TTRPG. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' mechanics have been so well-received that some have even said that Borderlands 4 should adopt its RPG mechanics whenever it releases.

As reported by GamesRadar, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has made it clear that Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will be developed into a fully-fledged franchise, "with future experiences already under development at Gearbox." The statement was made at a recent meeting with Gearbox's parent company, Embracer Group, which acquired Gearbox in 2021, and follows from previous statements by Gearbox and Wonderlands publisher Take-Two that further games are under development. Although Gearbox has made clear its intentions to continue the franchise, no exact plans have yet been announced.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has already received updates in the form of four DLC mini-campaigns as part of the game's season , as well as a new class, but it remains to be seen whether the game will receive a second season , similar to Borderlands 3. The game has also received updates outside the season , such as nerfs to Wonderlands' best guns, but further for the game, or a potential sequel, has yet to be officially announced. Additionally, while the Borderlands franchise will be receiving a Tales from the Borderlands sequel, it is currently unknown whether the Wonderlands franchise could dip into genres outside of shooter-looters.

With Gearbox hailing Wonderlands as a total success, it has now been confirmed that the series will be continued. Fans of Wonderlands, and of the Borderlands franchise, can certainly expect more tabletop-themed adventures to follow, but until any official announcements are made, it remains to be seen exactly what form the franchise's continuations will take. Whatever the case, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands certainly seems to be here to stay.
